Newbie Here :)

hey everyone :)

my name is Jasmine and I am 21 <3

My journey so far has been long and frusterating haha

I started seeing my new surgeon in june of this year and things have moved very quickly ! I am actually getting the sleeve due to a mistake in the surgeons office when everything was submitted it was submitted for a sleeve instead of the bypass that I was more then prepared for !

I am doing the sleeve because I dont want to wait the month or longer it will take to get it fixed ! I am 6 days pre op ! and I feel like I have so much to learn about this procedure ;/ can anyone give me advice or suggestions for the post op diet like what agrees with you what does not . what is your favorite food /drink how has life changed since your surgery ?!

I think you have made a great decision in getting the sleeve instead of the bypass. You won't have to worry about things like dumping syndrome, nutrient deficiencies, or weight re-gain like you could experience with the bypass. I've lost over 120 lbs in a year and feel great! I can eat anything and drink anything I want to, but I choose to eat healthy and maintain my weight loss. My life is so different now and I'm so much more active and happy. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Good luck to you!

Hi Jasmine,

I was originally thinking of the lapband. I started my WLS info search on the internet and youtube. Once I read about the sleeve, I didn't consider anything else. I am 8 weeks post op, down 31lbs as of today. I feel great, and Im glad I had the surgery. My taste buds have changed, things really dont taste as good as they use to. " That's a good thing, right". Everyones different, what is easy and good to me, might make you gag. LOL!

Hi

- Congrats on your journey, and getting your surgery soon. Im just starting, and have 4 months of dieting to go.
