11 Days Post Up And Feeling Sick

I ventured out of the house yesterday for the first time since surgery. We went to Target so I could get food for my soft diet. When I got home I was freezing and my whole body was shaking (it was raining outside). I eventually became very lightheaded and dizzy so I slept off and on the rest of the day. Early this morning (4 a.m.), the upset stomach and diarrhea started...felt like I was going to die! Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what might have caused it? Is it ok to take anti-diarrhea meds?

Sounds like you just might have caught a tummy bug.

Sounds like you just might have caught a tummy bug.

It's going around!!

You might have just over did it. Are you drinking a lot of fluids because it could also be dehydration. Make sure your getting some protein in. Our bodies react in some strange ways. ;)

I am really starting to worry that my experience is not normal! I am 12 days out now, and have resumed my normal daily life. I eat most things that I did before just in very small quantities. After the first 5 days after surgery I have felt great with no pain, no real problems at all.

Most people that I hear from have at least 6 weeks of real recovery. I don't know if I am just healing especially well or if something is really wrong with me.

I hope that you get to feeling better, just remember to stay hydrated and get some rest!
