Throat Growling - Making Noises @#$%#$

Ok, need some advice. Everytime I eat anything, my throat starts this embarrassing growing noise. I can feel bubbles like feeling coming up from the bottom of my throat and come to the top. I compare it to the sizzling rock candy I use to eat as a kid. It's so embarrassing and uneasy feeling, it makes me not want to eat at all. What gives? I take Prilosec now.

It is totally normal. I am ten weeks out and everytime I eat it happens. I call it my alien talking because especially if I eat something new it will make all kinds of noises and gurgle sounds. Weird

  • When you have your sleeve with the intact valve at the bottom of the stomach, coupled with the much smaller size of that stomach - pressure builds up and thus the gurgle lol. I was cracking up at my l

I think it differs fir each person. For me, I gurgle after each sip.

Is it similar to the sound the tummy makes when hungry or have gas? Is the sound coming from near the tummy or the throat? Do other WLS cause this?

My office buddy says she can't hear it, but its like Mt St helen to me. I just wanna crawl under my desk!

I just bought a hot chocolate from StarBucks down from my office and its not doing it to me...only food.

UGH~ Not worth eating in front of someone when it happens. lol

I think is nearest to the tummy, or between those two places.

I have been sleeved since December 2011. I had a pretty normal recovery however my doctor says I am just a very sensitive little girl. I have had since day one that gurgling or burping sound anytime I drank or ate anything. I spoke with my doctor about it. He said it is weird but normal. He said it will soon go away. So I am thinking okay soon means like a few weeks to a couple months. Well it did start to go away. It stopped after I drank but still happens when I eat. I am still doing it only after I eat. It is slowly but surely going away. I dont do it all the time. Mostly when I eat to much or to fast. I dont think it means that when you start to do it to stop eating. I think that it means we should eat slower to let the food pass down to our stomachs. I have learned to live with it but it will go away almost totally if I stay patient and I am sure it will for you too. Remember I am a "very sensitive little girl" per my doctor so everything takes much longer for me to get over. May start to see it go away a lot sooner for you if it has not done so already. I wish you all the luck.

I seem to have this almost all the time...when i eat or drink. its very loud and sometimes makes me feel like im choking.I am 3 months out from the surgery..hope it gets better:(

I'm almost a year out and this still happens to me. I think it's funny. Small price to pay!

I have that also and I'm glad to see that I am not alone in it. It is a bit embarrassing but I just figured I'd better get used to it.
