Hair Loss

I'm only 3 weeks post op and do not have any hair loss... BUT I hear about it far too often. I have thin hair so I cannot afford to lose any. Any vitamins or anything I can take now to prevent?

I heart that biotin helps. I got some just in case.

I'm taking biotin too, and ordered Ovation hair therapy but it has not arrived yet so I I can't comment on how well it works.

I had a significant amount of hair loss. This started around the 4th month and nothing really seemed to help with stopping it. Thankfully I have alot of hair before surgery so it doesnt look too bad.

I am now 9.5 months and my hair is growing back and has stopped falling out(other than a standard amount i would have lost pre-surgery).

Now it is growing back I am more subdued about it, it was a process my body needed to go through, just one more thing to recover from the surgery from, and my once thick hair is so much easier to control now.

I lost half my hair. I used Biotin for months before and after surgery and took hair and nails Vitamins. I got all my Protein in every day during the post op diet and every day since. When it grew back in, it grew back in curly. I've never had curly hair in my life.

It's been really different for me to get used to curly hair.

I wish mine would've come back curly. Mine is coming back all silver. Grrr.

My story is similar to Oregondaisy: I am four months post-op, and have started losing a significant amount of hair which was already thin to begin with. I have used biotin for months both before and after surgery. I take hair and nail vitamins. I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. I get 80+ proteins in every day pre-op and post-op. My hope is it will come back in, and I will enjoy it if it comes in curly, but just so long as it comes back!

Okay I am glad to hear, well not glad because it really sucks, but I will be 5 mths post-op tom. and my hair is coming out in handfuls. I have been taking biotin for 2 weeks and I have been told to take10,000 mg of vitamin d and get tea tree oil to massage in my hair nightly. I am going to try that and see if it helps. I am FREAKING out over this b/c I am vain about my hair!
