Newbie

Hello everyone. I am a new user, however, I have been reading the posts for a couple of weeks now. I, like some, have went back and forth with whether or not to undergo surgery for weight loss. After a visit to my doctor's office (I avoided him for a whole year), and finding that I was borderline diabetic and had hypertension, along with tipping the scales at 346 pounds, I decided enough was enough. I was sleeved on 4/23/12. Since I started my journey, I have lost 51 pounds :) My goal is 180-190 pounds, given I am 5'11". I am still struggling with my protein intake and I'm just incorporating semi solid foods into my diet. I realize I needed support from those who have gone through what I have and here I am :) I look forward to reading and sharing in everyone's success stories!!!

Congrats to you, you are doing fantastic! This site has been a godsend for me, it has helped me tremendously. Everyone is so nice and it really helps to hear everyone elses journeys, made me feel better knowing what I was feeling was normal. Welcome too by the way!

Thank you!!! Looking at your stats, you are doing terrific at only four months in! I agree re: this forum being a godsend. The support group meetings are inconvenient for me to get to and are only held once a month. Here, I feel I can get all the support I need, when I need it :)

Thanks, keep up the good work and looking forward to talking to you again.

Welcome sleeved three days ago. I'm still learning to use this site, but it is very addicting; more so than facebook to me... Lol
