On Pins And Needles!

Am currently waiting on approval (or denial) for my revision to sleeve. I know it hasn't been long. I know that the insurance company has 30 days to make a decision, but I'm ready to know now! I want to start making my next plan (either starting the process over or planning my surgery). I should have realized that once I made up my mind to have revision, that I would not be willing to wait. I have to learn patience... Sigh... I just want this done now! lol. I'm ready to be back to losing. My weight is slowly (ok not as slow as I'd like) creeping back up. I am up almost 30 pounds from my lowest. That is so disheartening... I recognize that is my own fault, but I need to find out something soon OR get some of my fill added back to curb my outrageous eating lately.

How on earth do you deal with the waiting?

How do I deal with waiting? Not very well. I am in the same boat at you. It has just been a week since doc's office filed for my revision. I think about it multiple times daily. The best advise I can give (and try to live myself) is to keep busy...work, read, workout,,,anything to keep my mind and body occupied. How long have you been waiting?

Along with the request for additional information, almost a month. They sent In the original information in at the beginning of the month. Then they asked for proof I had been following the doctor's eating and exercise plan. It took almost two weeks for my doc's office to send that in. The insurance company just sent that information for review on Thursday. I have been checking my email every fifteen minutes since then (they will email me when there is a response). I am pathetic and making it worse by checking so often!

Hi,

I am self pay, so no insurance company to wait for. But, I can't get the time off work until September...so, I am scheduled and have paid two thirds of my surgery cost up front so far... and I still have 4 more months to wait... so, I know what you are going through! I have to lose 32 pounds before my Revision surgery and have lost 14 pounds so far... so, I guess I am also glad to have the time to lose some of my weight to make my surgery safer. Go luck and I hope all goes well!

Cheers, Dottie

It is hard to wait. I have never been a patient person so this is killing me! lol

Good luck to you too!

Yeah I'm not patient at all! My surg off sent in paperwork only a week and a half ago which wouldn't be so bad except then they moved my surgery date from may 16 to may 9th. Now I am 8 days from surgery and no approval yet and my sister can't buy her plane ticket to come help me until we get approval. Talk about a nail biter!!!! Supposed to start liquids tomorrow and still don't know for sure if I'll be having it next week or not! Good luck to us all!!!

hrtgoeson, does your doc require a pre- surgery liquids diet? Were there any other prerequisites?
