  • Yes. Very normal. No food in you just the liquids. Take my advice, never trust a fart!!! Lol. Seriously because whe you finally do go, it's probably gonna be diarrhea. But it will get better.

Alovio, that is freaky but awesome! We started our lives on the same day and now our new lives again on the same day. Super super cool. Stay in touch! How are you doing?

Christine where in NY? Long island here.

This was said already. But the pain meds can cause constipation. A stool softener will help tremendously.....I discovered a day too late!

Hey djhenin, I'm about 90 miles north of the city. Ulster county (Near poughkeepsie/Kingston area)

Ahhh ok.

jdhenin, were you the one who posted about needing to change her jammies after a fart? I read that story when I was recovering from surgery and I laughed so hard I felt like I had split my stitches. Doesn't matter who you are, farts are funny!

@Alovio- You're kicking @$$ with the Protein. I'm having a hard time getting even 20 grams in. For some reason I hate the shakes now and can only drink about 1/4 cup at a time. I bought some Isopure today (icy orange) and HATE it. Ingot 2 other flavors I haven't tried yet. Hopefully at least one is better. I also got some whey "shots" so hoping I can stomach one of those. Please full me in if you have any secret weapons. I think i start mushies next week so hoping I can do Beans, tuna, etc.

Excited to be sharing this journey with you. :-)

Felicity, have you tried the unjury chicken broth? It tastes great and at least it isn't sweet.

I didn't go the whole first week. The second only once too. It is normal from what I gather and makes sense, given our intake. Good luck! ;)

Msusvi, you're already on soups? I'm still on the shakes & clear liquids. I can't wait to eat some beans or soup or something! I'm 5 days post-op.

I was on soups as soon as I left the hospital. My doctor said if it can go through a straw, I can have it. Ofcourse no chunks. I can have any soup as long as it's passed through a strainer. I had my surgery here in Texas with Dr. Kuhn at Baylor.
