Recommended Posts

Well last night i slept pretty well, went to sleep with my cpap machine but must have taken it off at night. Woke up real early at about 630 felt a bit disconfort. Yesterday i did liquids all day motly Water and 1/2 bottle of Isopure took my chewable Vitamin. So this morning went for an early morning walk not long maybe 1/4 mile, woke up with lots of gas walk seem to help. came home started on another bottle of isopure grape flavor not to bad when cold. but i only take 1/2 ounce sips. I am using a 1 ounce cup they gave me at hospital. I also had 1 ounce of gello and my chewable vitamin. Then i took a nap. woke up pretty well took my first shower since operation felt great. then went on another 1/4 mile walk. Right now i feel real good. Gonna start on other half of isopure bottle this time fruit punch. im gonna have some chicken broth for lunch. but really not hungry strange because i am a food guy. taking it easy but feeling really good. Ill keep you posted later today see if i feel different.

Sounds like you're doing really well. My first day home was the worst. I couldn't get anything in me except some crystal lite. I started walking as soon as I could and have built up to between 2-5 miles a day. I walk after EVERY meal as it's the only way to get the fullness and gas pains to go away. I believe my walking has really helped me heal faster than I expected. Keep up the great work!!!! I have one question...what is Isopure? Also, you are handling more iquids than I can at one sip. I can barely get 1/2 an ounce down at one time now. I usually take the ounce cup and it takes 3-4 sips to get it all down. Good luck and keep up the great job!!!

Isopure are zero calorie protien drinks 20 oz bottle has 40g of protien. There ok but don't taste that great. But its best way to get the protien in. Ya I'm getting 1/2 drinks down, sometimes I feel the drink go all the way down. But I am doing pretty good on liquids.

I am so going to have to try the Isopure. It will give me something else to drink besides the smoothies I make that can give me Protein. I have never heard of them...thanks for letting me know about them.

Alovio,

Did they have you on cpap in the hospital? In recovery? If so, did you bring your machine or did they provide it? One of a gazillion questions!! Congrats!!

Thanks.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
