I am on my liquid diet now. This time next week I will be packing my hospital bag....that's if I don't go off the deep end and go homicidal maniac because I miss chewing! I know it will all be worth i

  • Sitting on the hotel bed waiting for my time to go to the hospital. It is sunny here and looks like a great day to start a new life.

Sandrababy you should tell them that you have medical condition and you need surgery..your physician anticipate your absents for about x amount of weeks..the sooner they now the faster they are able to organize or have coverage for your absents

iM getting sleeved on May 10th!. By Dr Eric Pham in Orange. @ St. Josephs Hospital. Im so nervous but excited! ive only been at my job literally 2 months today. so i havent told them yet cuz im kinda nervous i think they might let me go when i have to ask for 2-3 weeks off for down time. =[

Sandra , you should tell your work so that it's fair to have them arrange coverage for you absents. You don't have to tell them what your surgery is for..you can tell them that you have a medical condition and that your physician is requiring x amount of weeks off for surgery. When you return you'll have a note from your physician stating your clearance with no restriction.. Keep it simple and professional and they will truly appreciate your honesty... My Sleeve is May 22nd and I'm taking 2 months off because my physician said so..I told my job 2 months in advance..now I'm just counting down..Good Luck!!

Hello. This is my first time replying but anyway my surgery is on May 22nd. I am still trying to get my groceries together. My endoscopy is on May 2nd.

I'm getting my sleeve on May 22nd...this is my last week of eating then liquid diet here I come!!! Buena Suerte!!!

Trueme, I agree with you. The sooner she tells her job the better. I work at a hospital and I have FMLA. I am going to use short term disability during the time I am out. My Endoscopy is this morning, I hope they knock me out good..lol

By the way Trueme, we have 20 days to go!!!! Buenas suerte a ti tambien!! I hope my liquid diet doesn't kill me...lol

Healing time! I know we will have a lot of healing to do but I just read people have taken months off of work. I hope i am up and about in days I stay at home not work but I still hope I am not needing that long of a recovery. I have seen people at my support group 6 days after an they seem fine. Good luck all

NurseVane, I am at a hospital also. I do the overnight shift. My nutritionist told me to have something before I go in and to have a protein drink while at work. Plus you need to keep drinking water and crystal lite. We will get through this ;)

Leesakake, I am sure we all would like to get back to a normal routine as soon as possible but some people have jobs that are laborious and need more time off. I am only taking two weeks myself. Plus financially I can't do lot of time off.

I hope to not have offend. I am just worried it will take me that long to recover. Yes different types of Job require more. Good luck all

Boriqua00...I too work in a hospital...Im taking the Short Term Dis/FMLA..I cant wait for the surgery and cant wait not to be at work as well. Yahoo Chica los vamos a ver tan Chula!!!

Leesakake and Boriqua00 Im taking 2 months off I have the Short term and FMLA therefore I figure I pay for this..I will take it for granted and use it..My Dr also state I will be fine within a matter of weeks but he asked me if I wanted it off he would approve it..I dont want to take any chances...everyone situation is difference but if it can be done then bravo!! I need to rest up and recooperat even if that means being about from my job for 2 months...oh I love it not being around my co-workers ( they can be obnoxious...but thats another story..hahaha)

Good Luck to Both!! We are going to look and feel fabulous!!! Yahoo!!! Heres' to 19 days!!!

May 31st in Mexico with Dr. Almanza....anyone else?

Im being Sleeve on May 16th im nervouse and excited !!!!!!

Sandra and Sharon - me to MAY 10!!! Day 3 of liquid diet!!!!! I'm very tired; even though I'm taking vitamins!

Woohoo!

What can you drink for your liquid diet? Can you do Protein shakes? I am lucky that I just have to eat healthy for 2 weeks so doing 2 or 3 Protein Shakes a day, plus a healthy meal. Then 3 days pre-op I do liquid diet.

Oh & I was told to stop my multi-vitamins 2 weeks pre-op. You were allowed to continue to take them??
