Post Op Day 2

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here to the forum.I am 2 days post vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Is it supposed to hurt a little when I drink. I try sipping slowly and am I supposed to feel hungry ? Also, I was told to wait a week before Protein is added to my diet, is this right ?

It will be challenging to get your fluids in, I wont lie to you but just keep it up, very important. I didnt feel hungry for a week or so. I was told I could drink protein drinks as soon as I got home

Yes its normal! As far as the protein you can add it right away as long as it is clear, the first week however I don't think is detrimental to drink your protein. You're probably having enough trouble

I was told I could drink protein drinks as soon as I got home ( next day after surgery) Call your Doc and make sure. Make sure to get your rest and walk as much as you can. Good luck to you! B)
