  1. I have lost 75lbs since 2 weeks before surgery. I STILL struggle with Protein, meals Snacks, everything. I have tried all foods to "test the water" post surgery. Tuna and I are no longer friends. I tried one bite of wheat bread once, bread and I are no longer friends. I will eat maybe 1/4 c whole wheat Pasta with shrimp sometimes for dinner. I will eat a small whole wheat tortilla for breakfast with an egg and less than an ounce of cheese. I then have a handful of high protein granola with a greek yogurt cup Oikos is my favorite. lunch and I struggle A LOT . SOmetimes I have chicken salad with crackers, sometimes, just reduced fat club crackers . When afternoon hungries hit, i try a Protein Bar, sometimes I just drink Water. I find that I am not hungry but very very oral, if that makes sense. I do chew gum, which helps me. I am having trouble with fluids and not getting enough. So that is my 5 month journey !!!!
  2. Just went down rough and I got SUPER nauseous. With and w/o tortilla. I ate 1 full piece out of 6 ...my daughter loved them today left over. I did try again today and immediately nauseous. I am having a lot of trouble with chicken in general. Except canned chicken that seems ok. Can't wait to see my NUT Tuesday so I can maybe get some ideas/suggestions how and what to eat .......all my info is pretty vague !
  3. Tried a chicken Quesadilla very slowly. Quesdailla won....:0(
  4. Congrats, Happy for you !!!!
  5. ahhhh forgot about Red Lobster !!! GREAT call....if I can't eat we can go through taco bell drive through LMAO !!!! :0) Add me on my fitness pal.? I am jovifan86
  6. My husband and I celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary this coming Tuesday. We would like to go out for dinner. I am 3.5 weeks post op. What CAN I eat ? Any restaurant suggestions ?
  7. Three weeks out. STILLL cannot get a handle on eating, what a PAIN !!! I eat and feel full and about three hours later I am frickin hungry again. I am having about 80% protein in my diet and about 40-50g of carbs and keeping it around 1,000 calories. Suggestions ???
  8. I am doing Atkinsish/South Beachish myself. 1,000 or so calories, 90ish grams of protein and about 40 g of carbs
  9. Thanks ladies ...now I have to remember how to update my tracker
  10. OK so one the three weeks anniversary of my sleeve, for the first time in 12 years I have finally broken 200# !!!! Goal #1 down, another goal in sight.
  11. Thanks everyone ! I too am struggling only 3 weeks post-op with eating being a "chore". I am eating for breakfast some eggbeaters about 1/4 cup with some cheese and sometimes some turkey bacon mixed in. I get at least 1-2 bottles of Water in before lunch. Right now I have about 6 thin slices of lunchmeat rolled around a slice or two of cheese (breaking up the cheese into "planks"). Then I struggle with water in the afternoon. Right now I am petrified of eating too many carbs so I try and keep it to about 40g a day. Now between 3-4:30, I am back to being hungry like before surgery so sometimes I only have room for half my eggs for breakfast and eat the rest in the afternoon. More water on the way home and dinner is lately consisting of sometimes just a Protein shake or some sort of lean protein and a small bit of carbs. I am trying to consume about 1,000 calories per day. I am wondering if I should have a snack during that 3-4:30pm hunger hour but not sure what to have. Maybe a Protein Shake or cheese or something ? I still haven't figured it out. You ladies are,by the way, my motivation and my saving grace. I have been making excuses again for not getting to the gym and I need to incorporate a plan now that I have returned to work (it is my first week back). I am so busy worrying about being here to make dinner for my older children that I am about myself. That is one of the cop outs that got me obese in the first place. I know I am rambling.
  12. I have been told approx. 40g per day is a good number for "low" carbs .
  13. I am having trouble drinking so much water !!! I too am having trouble finding foods and recipes, it is so much more of a "chore" to eat now than it used to be because I didn't care what I shoved into it ! I am three weeks post-op and I have no idea what my sleeve is telling me nor how much per sitting I am supposed to eat....this is a daily struggle ...hopefully it gets easier !!!!
  14. Thanks guys so much ! I am going to try the beans and some other things. I am going to have to measure out 1/3 cup. I also did something a little different today. I usually get hungry about 3 or 4 ish and if I can't eat my entire breakfast I eat the rest about that time. That worked out so well for me.
  15. Tuna, does now not agree with me post surgery :0(... Part Skim ricotta, a dash of spaghetti sauce and mozarella cheese , put it in the oven for 15 min. I tastes like lasagna !!!! Ricotta w a little splenda is also good for a sweet treat.
  16. Yes, you can ! Yes, that is also considered clear. U can also try getting some protein bullets, they are liquid. You can get them at Walmart. I purchased Syntax Nectar it is unflavored, you can put it in anything.
  17. OK. I am almost 3 weeks post-op. I have eaten too much once, don't ever want to do that again. I am still not getting how to eat ! I get hungry quickly because I am not filling up because I am afraid of eating too much ! Can someone help me out please. I have lost 7 lbs since surgery and not a pound more. Obviously I need to eat to lose. I cannot seem to get the carbs under control either. (which could also be why I experience some hunger)
  18. Thank you Indymom. I am struggling with what to eat everyday. I don't have a routine for eating and I return to work tomorrow...I'm a little worried....any advice for packing ;lunches ?
  19. Congratulations ! Yes, all of what you are experiencing is completely normal. These things may also continue for a while. The pain will get better. Take your nausea meds and your pain meds ! It will be good. Sip and walk, sip and walk !
  20. Thank you wheetsin ! Not much fits better either I'm just overall glass half empty right now I guess. It is sooo discouraging not seeing results after everything I have gone through.
  21. Thank you for that moment of sanity !!! I have overall lost only 5 lbs since the date of my surgery so I am pretty damn frustrated overall. I am trying to keep the faith here but it is so difficult .....
  22. OK SO, i HAVE BEEN EXERCISING AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK FOR A WEEK NOW AND JUST STARTED ON FOOD. I HAVE GAINED A FLIPPIN POUND !!!!!-SINCE TUESDAY AT MY POST-OP APPOINTMENT.... I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY. WAS THIS ALL IN VAIN ??????
  23. So me, like I am sure a lot of you, got excited when I could eat actual food !! I am 14 days out today. I tried tuna salad -prepared in the can w crackers. Well, I don't quite know when I feel full yet, man I know now ! I ate wayyyyyy too much (1/2 the small can) and I was almost violently ill ! Bad nausea , ick...so I have come to the conclusion that 1...I have had a crash course in "full" and I cannot just hop right into food again. I took it easier for dinner and had some ricotta, cheese, sauce and mozzarella, like a mock lasagna and I ate only about 1/4 cup, maybe less .... Any ideas for food in general, I can tell this is going to be slow and get old fast before I can eat "normally" again.
