Is this a stall?? Or.....

Hey all ..

Well I am 4 wks out tomorrow.. I never thought Id see the day when I could say Im 30 days out! I am facing a current problem though.. so i bought a scale for home and while i know that it could be off from the dr's scale.. im at least trying to monitor the change in numbers from the day i bought it a week ago till today. I keep going back and forth between the same numbers :( there really seems to have been no weight loss other than 1 lb off n on.. WHY!!?? :( Is this a stall or am i doing something wrong??

I have progressed to some soft foods now with the approval of my dr, and also the 2oz 3 times a day guideline he gave me i can bump up a bit .. he said if im not feeling the full sensation i can take a few bites more......... so a typical day for me now is ..

Breakfast - soft scrambled egg beaters - 1/4 cup with ff shredded cheese

mid morning - Protein shake (20gr)

lunch - 1/4 cup tomato Soup, 2 crackers, half turkey slice with ff cream cheese

mid afternoon - Protein shake (20gr)

dinner - 1/4 some kinda soup blended, half turkey slice with ff cream cheese

i do 1 or 2 popsicles sometimes through out the day, and my Water i have been tryin hard to get 64oz but i cant seem to make it :(

Am i doing something wrong, or is this typical for this point (1month out)

You are at the right time to be stalling, at the 3-4 wk mark. You're menu looks good, just try to get minimum 64oz water, but i shoot for 80 oz. minimum 70-80g protein. Plug what you're eating into myfitnesspal to see how much protein and carbs and calories you're getting if you aren't sure. It also lets you keep up with your water intake. I had a 3 wk stall around the 3-4 wk post op point. But I dropped a couple clothes sizes around the stall time too. It's all part of it, and it's probably not gonna be the last stall we have. Don't stress out about it, you're doing great!!!

:)

I am 13 days out and have been at the same weight now for 6 days! Ive increased my walking, my water intake and i too cant' seem to lose! Is it possible to get a stall this early out?????

I got sleeved on June 6 and had lost 28 lbs by June 30 (including 2 week pre-op loss). On July 1 (4 weeks out) I got on the scale and had gained 2 lbs.....eek! The next day I lost 1 lb. I missed my July 4th goal by 1 lb. I decided to stay off the scale for a few days...it was becoming a rollercoaster. I am not gonna weigh myself til next weekend, in the meantime I will just try to follow all the rules as best I can. There's a very kind person on these boards that posted a link that explains all the chemistry behind a stall and that they are to be expected. I'm sure you'll find it here somewhere. It was very reassuring to find that this is absolutely a normal thing to happen. The only real advice was to watch those carbs and get your water in (H2O is the hardest for me).
