Is it okay to take the chewable calcium during the post-op clear liquid diet phase? I am trying to make sure I get all my nutrients in so I don't have too many deficiency issues.

Yes, you can. I take a chewable multivitamin twice a day, calcium three times a day, B12 once a week. This is required by my doctor.

Oops... And chewable calcium citrate. I think it's essential.

My doc had a take it slow attitude. He did not require calcium until 4 weeks out, although he required the multivitamin at week 2. Week 1 he said just focus on fluids.

My doctor only wants me to take my multivitamins right now. He said at my next visit, which will be 6 weeks out, then we will start on the rest.

If you chew it alot you really don't actually swallow anything it just dissolves like. I chew and suck alot on it.
