Ocean Eyes

Just thought I would start off an introductory thread. I'm from Fredericksburg and would love to touch base with local sleevers. I was sleeved in DC in January 2011. I am going to try to attend a support group meeting at Washington Hospital Center on July 9th.

This weekend, I decide to dye my hair a little darker as part of my transformation to a new me. I had seen the ads on TV about the new Nice n' Easy Foaming Hair Dye. I've been dying my hair the traditional way for almost 15 years so I figured "what the heck" I'll try something different. Here is my experience with this new product: -I liked the application of the foam, it was similar to mousse and alot less time consuming then applying traditional hair dye -Although it was easy to apply, it still was a little messy ( I have shoulder length hair). I managed to get it all over the back of my gown and my neck which I had to vigoursly rub with alchol to remove the dye stains after I finished the application. I clipped my hair up to keep it from resting on my neck and causing further staining. -After the specified time, I washed it out in the shower until the Water ran clear. However, when I got out of the shower the dye was still on my scalp so I had to rub it off in several places with a wet towel. Overall, I think it did an okay job. If I use it again, I will probably scrub my scalp really well in the shower to remove any residue and try to be more cautious about the application of the foam near areas that may contact my skin. Have you tried this new foaming dye? Have a differnt experience? Please share!

Although I didn't make the last goal, I am determined to step up the exercise and make the Labor Day goal. I started tracking my food intake again so I hope it helps me keep a closer eye on my calories, carbs, and Proteins. Sadly, I didn't make goal but I still lost 23lbs which is pretty good. I ended the challenge on a stall so hopefully things will pick up for the Labor Day Challenge. I pretty sure I won't lose 7lbs before the 4th so it doesn't look like I'll make goal. It was a tough week! Moving forward....and downwards!

I was on vacation last week. Luckily, I still managed to lose 4 lbs over those two weeks. I will need to step it up a notch in order to make goal but with TOM this week it may be a challenge.

Updating...headed to the beach for vacation next week..I hope it doesn't derail progress towards my goal. 5 weeks to go..that means an average of 3lbs a week to make goal. I can do this!! I fit into a size 16 jacket and almost into a 16 pants. I cleaned out my closet this week and have only one work jacket that fits (16 from 5 years ago) and one pair of black pants (brand new 18).
