I had my sleeve on Dec 13th. Each day come a different challenge but it has been well worth it! I am still struggling to get in enough Protein and I still haven't gotten 64 oz of Water yet! But I am down 35 pounds post op for a total of 71 pounds. I have yet to have a stall of more than 2 days, though I am sure one will be coming. How is everyone else doing?

I was sleeved 12/6/11 and down 70lbs. I'm in the same boat as hugs, insufficient Protein and Water as well as calories for that matter, I sometimes get as little as 400 to 700 calories a day. My back is killing me and I wonder if I'm adsorbing muscle from that area.

I was sleeved on 12/30/10. I am still struggling with the Protein and Water goals, but it's getting better. I am currently on pureed, but have to admit I tend to eat more really soft foods instead. I just can't handle putting stuff through a blender...........gross. Anyway, I have lost a total of 23 lbs. so far.

Anyone having trouble sleeping? I wake up at 3am ever night and can't get back to sleep. Congrats to all the Dec. Sleevers.

Thanks for replying, I am reading a lot about Protein requirement struggles, can I share with you what I am having for dinner? It's a Peanut Butter cup shake and ohhhh am I getting my protein. Here is what you need:

GNC-AMPLIFIED WHEYBOLIC 60gr per scoop chocolate FLAVORED powder(1 scoop)

*Get the blender out girls!!!!

1/4 cup of milk

1/4 cup of ice

1tbs of peanut butter

1 tbs of Sugar Free Chocolate syrup

MIX and sing "Now I am feeling so fly like a G6!" LOL

Sip...Sip...and with the peanut butter and milk you'll get 76grams.

If you don't like PB then modify what I am trying to say is I found a way to get it in that I enjoy. I have drank 1/2 the cup and I am completely full so I will sip sip through the night, I plan on doing 60min of cardio tonight therefore I will need it anyway.

Joe,

I am opposite...I am sleeping like a rock literally but then again I have three kids, when you wake up are you hungry or in pain? Honestly it could be that your metabolism is resetting and burning and that's alerting you at night like a spurt of energy. I know I am burning fat in the morning when I get up to pee it is dark dark even though I drank GOD knows how many ounces, and I check for Ketones always there.

Hi all!

I was sleeved on 12/28 & am officially down 30 pounds! Still on mushies and no stall to date.I'm absolutely thrilled! The Water has been easy, but the Protein is really hard for me. Anxious to try the Peanut Butter chocolate shake, though. I, too, wake up every night at 3--no pain, no reason just awake!

Honestly? The whole process has been so much easier than I had imagined possible. Love, love, loving my sleeve!

I had my surgery on 12/30/10 and I, too, am having problems getting my Protein and Water in every day. Currently, I'm relying on Gladiator smoothies from smoothie King (45 grams protein/20 oz) and New Whey Protein Shots (42 grams protein/3.9 Oz). I've tried several of the powders, but can't find one that I like. I've ordered some of the Pure Protein Powder, and, hopefully, this will be the one that works for me!

Hey all! I was sleeved on 12/27 and am down 35 lbs total, 10 pre op and 25 post op. I am doing well with my Protein, not so much with my fluids but I'm working on it. I was fighting my grazing urge for a few days and hit about 800 cals per day, but for the past couple days I scaled it back to 600-650. I have been at a stall for the past week and a half, so Ive increased my exercise and hopefully the combo of the lower cals and exercise will help me get over that. Otherwise everything has been good. I do still have head hunger and I love to cook, so Im trying to find a way to satisfy my cooking urge but not feel the need to sample everything. The whole sleeve procedure has been so much easier than I thought it would be, but it is still a conscious effort to control my eating. That said, I almost never feel deprived at the end of the day, I go to bed satisfied and when I look back its almost surprising how little I need to eat to feel okay. At the 1 month mark (Monday) I can start my cardio, so Im gonna hop back on my beloved bicycle and look forward to more losing. :D

BTW if there is anyone who lives in the Pasadena or Los Angeles area feel free to contact me if you want to be workout buddies :)

Sleeved 20 December and down 27 pounds. I had been stalled for 2 weeks, but lost 2 lbs. today, so, hopefully I am back on the losing train! I am walking about 2.75 miles a day and taking in about 600 calories and 64 ounces of Water. I have been told that I have to get it up to 1200 calories, so that is my goal. I just hope that my slow loss isn't indicative of failure... I have been feeling pretty defeated lately.

Sorry that youre feeling down, Im feeling that way just a bit as well. I am a little worried about my stall, but from what I see here the 3 week stall is pretty normal, its just the body adjusting. One person in a different forum mentioned that she had stalled for a couple months, but now she is down about 100 lbs or so! It WILL pass :) I decreased my cals and I see that you are increasing yours, so hopefully one of us sees results! :D Either way its nearly impossible to NOT lose with the intake that we have, so hang in there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
