hugsamber got a reaction from bubbz333 in Kaiser Cost
I only had a few copays and then paid for meds. I didn't have a hospital fee or anything. Plus, because I live in sacramento and surgery was in richmond, I got reiumbursed for mileage and tolls. I would say I spent less than 100 for the whole thing then I got back 180. I have insuance through the state of ca.

hugsamber got a reaction from Ms skinniness in Loose Skin
I just turned 29 and have lost 114 pounds so far. When I remember I slather my body in cocoa butter from palmers. I have not really been exercising either yet. I notice a little loose skin. Around the upper arms, a little around the upper thighs and starting to a bit at the belly. I think that if I lotioned more often and lifted some weights it will not be that bad in the future. Fingers crossed of course. I have about 35 more to lose.

hugsamber got a reaction from CarrieNita in major nsv- half marathon
A year ago today I weighed 291 pounds. I had always wanted to run a half marathon but never thought that I actually would. Yesterday, I completed the Women's Nike half marathon in San Francisco. 13.1 miles. It was amazing. The hills were intese and the views of golden gate bridge and the city and ocean were beautiful. I finished in 3 hours and 18 mins. Not bad for someone who really didn't train or prepare. There was over 20,000 participants, mostly women and it was so inspiring. I am super sore today but so thankful that I was even able to do it. It was so awesome!

My boyfriend and I met when I was 170 pounds. He was 230. We both gained weight as the years went on. My heaviest was 291 and his is 265. I now weigh what I weighed when we first met almost 6 years ago. He loved me at all my sizes. Just as I still love him at his heaviest. I think he is more self consious now that I have lost weight, but I reassure him and am plenty affectionate. If anything I support him when he wants to work out but never push him. I just want him to be happy and healthy and he wants the same for me. I am still attracted to him if not more than when we first met!

hugsamber got a reaction from LIZABIG in SO FRUSTERATED Im guna be stuck like this forever
Your body is still healing and going through the major shock of surgery. It takes time for your body to even out. Eating as little as we do the first few weeks, I think (my opinion only) that our bodies go into starvation mode and hang on to every calorie of food that passes our lips. Some people have said that even when they aren't losing weight, they are still losing inches off their body. Perhaps you can try doing your measurements and see if that gives you an encouragement boost. Also, we don't gain weight overnight so we sure aren't going to lose it overnight. You have lost about 13 pounds post op. That is over 4 pounds a week. You are still doing good. Would you be losing 4 pounds a week without the sleeve? If your mom is expecting a miracle weight loss in 3 weeks then I think she is being unrealistic. I am sure that your mom will be proud of what you have accomplished in so little amount of time. I am only a week out from being sleeved but I know that when I get to my first stall I will feel disapointment in myself. We just have to remember to try and stay positive.
