WEll got a call from insurance advocate today say my insurance required me to be on the insurance for a year before they will cover it, so they gave me a choice to continue for the next 5 months to do all that is requested . Or to start all over in January and start the 6 months,So if I continue then I have to wait till June for them even to turn my paper work in. Getting a little discourage .. They said its good for 2 years.. I told them I will let them know Tommorw .. I think just to keep going!!..

I agree. It's not that far away. I know you feel that you have made your decision and now you want to move ahead and this feels like a road block. You are still moving forward. When the hubby and I made our decision it was January and it took us till May to actually be banded.

We both have 2 combined top notch health insurance companies and none of them were denying us, it just took us that long to get all our testing and paper work done pre-op.

So get started on all that, and then in January you are that much further ahead of the game. Also you have all of us peeps out here in bandland to keep bouncing off of.

Don't stress, just keep moving forward :)

My doctor's office does the psyic eval. I thought they all do. We learn things every day. Good luck with everything. I hope it all turns out great.

Hang in there Sylvia. You never know what will get thrown at you to derail the process. Believe it or not, Superstorm Sandy delayed my surgery for three months. I was supposed to be banded in October of last year and then Sandy hit. My hospital was flooded and closed for three months. Imagine being all ready to move forward on this life changing event only to have Mother Nature throw a monkey wrench into it. Of course it's now eight months since the surgery and that three month delay doesn't even matter anymore.

Hi Sylvia, just another voice of support here -- it sounds like you're really in top of your end and five months will whoosh by before you know it. Keep us posted!

I thanks for all the encouraging words I will move forward even if it takes a year.:(

Hi Sylvia,

Great name, my mother's, too. I just remembered when I started my long journey it was very long. I went to my first meeting October, 2011. Because of my age and the hospital being taken over by a large Boston one I was not banded until July 30, 2012. That was 9-10 months from beginning to end. I survived. Best 9 months other than my 2 son's pregnancies.

Good luck, we are all here for you. Keep us posted.
