I was banded 7/29/13 and as I heal it feels like when I stand up the band shifts into position. Has anyone else experienced this?

You most likely are still swollen as you are still healing from your surgery and things are bound to feel a bit strange. Be kind to yourself, no strenuous exercise for a bit and if need be place your hand over your incision when getting up if you need extra support. I know I did for a while.

Though do mention it to your doctor the next time you see him .

its not your band (your band is sewn onto the top of your stomach) i had a huge stomach and everytime i moved, it felt as if my lower stomach pulled down.....weird but as you heal, it does get better, promise

Thank you both. My first follow up after surgery is 8/8/13 and I will mention it. My stomach is where I carry all my weight and it does feel like my lower belly is pulling and stretching it.

I am pre-band so don't have any real input except that I've been reading up all I can and making lists for when the time comes. Several people have mentioned a corset. My husband had back surgery through the front and that corset was his best friend for a while while he was healing up inside. Wonder if that might help.......

Hi, I used a corset for back surgery and it helped but I wouldn't use it on newly banded surger. The pressure would be too much on your port. You don't want to disturb your port post surgery. You should really ask your surgeon however. I had to wear loose clothing post op for the first couple of weeks with no pressure on the port.
