Take a stool softner, not a laxative, because a laxative will cramp you up something wicked. Drink LOTS of Water. (TMI coming in 3... 2...1...) If you can feel the feces near the exit but just can

  • The high protein diet can stop you up. Add a stool softener and take Miralax until you get relief. You don't want to end up in the ER. Make sure you getting all your non protein fluids in too!

  • Miralax is not a cramping laxative. My doctor has me on it half dose daily, and no cramping.

I am having the same problem! I got rebanded on march 1st. I had diahrrea last week i guess cause of the gas. But i havent had a normal bowel movement for almost like 3weeks! Should I take a laxative or a stool softner? I just started eating mushy foods on monday and still no BM! :(

I was out running errands this AM and grabbed a small smoothie from McD. Mixed my protein powder inside, took about 5 sips and was stuffed. Get to show store to show shop, and it hits me!!! RELEIF!!! Thank the heavens!!!

Here comes TMI....it happened and I was excited! Hahaha!

Lol..Goooo cullychick...congrats on your poop...Omg...did I just type that...yep sure did...hugs

Thos post made me reminisce when my daughter was a baby how excited you were about every poop. Hurray for you

I have always had problems down there, so it was no surprise how blocked up I was after surgery. I feel blessed I read about the Miralax on here. It has made my life so much better. And, I am amazed because I have used other laxatives in the past and only had cramping and pain. Miralax works well. Switching to fiber supplement has me gassy, but helping with the regularity. So glad we are all so honest with each other on here ;-)

Lol!!! I've gone 3 times today!!! I have never been so happy in my life!!

Glad to see most of us are clearing out...it helps so much to be able to talk about these things with people that understand our pain. So glad I found this site.

I totally understand. I have to use liquid colace every day because of BM problems. Ask your doctor if there is something you can take. Good luck.

Hahaha this is a great post!

You may find that you need to be on a stool softener and fiber powder every day. I add a non flavored powder fiber to my water every day. You don't even know it is there, but you do know when you forget. You should be regular, but you will need help to get that way because we are now eating so much protein and pretty much no fiber.
