To Own A Scale, Or Not...

Why do you all think about owning a scale to weigh everyday? Or is it better to wait month to month to see how much you've lost and be surprised? I'm contemplating buying one, but thought this might be a good conversation.

I weigh myself in the morning and at night every single day. Keeps me accountable for what I put in my mouth. When I weigh the same at night as I did in the morning I know I lost weight and I jump up and down. I think weighing yourself every day is not good in the beginning but Im ocd like that.

i on the other hand dont own one as i had past issues (id weigh after id eat, pee, poop at least 50+ times a day) now i weigh once a month at my monthly follow ups,,keeps me honest and makes me do better. do what works for you.

I know it's probably not good, but I also weigh myself every morning and every night. Like Cheryl said, when I weigh the same at night as I did in the morning I know I've lost. When my weight is only up 2-3 pounds at night, I know I haven't gained.

It holds me accountable.

Early in this journey, I only weighed myself when I went to see my physician. Now that I am at goal, I get on the scale eveymorning before showering. I want to make sure I stay at this weight. The only reason I did not weigh daily when losing was becasue I did not want to become a slave to my scale. I lost a lot of inches while building muscle and it would have been depressing not to see the numbers get lower. So I say yes own scales but don't allow the scales to rule your thoughts on WL, there are many NSV along this journey.

Couldn't live without my scale! I weigh in the morning and at night. I need it for my accountability!!

I want to get one, but I couldn't stand to look at it everyday and possibly gain weight. It just takes me back to when I initially gained all my weight. Although, if I'm consistently loosing weight it would be incentive to keep going.

Well weight fluctuation is going to happen. You're gonna be up and down because of water weight. You can't let that defeat you. Sometimes at night Im up as much as six pounds but its water. When I get up in the morning its gone.

i get obsessive

I have one, but admit to being obsessive about it

I am obsessed with weighing. I weigh every morning and every night. I love it when I weigh the same as I did that morning. I too weigh after I go to the bathroom. Lol. Sometimes I will weigh several times before leaving the house in mornings when I gave lost because I love to see the scales move down.
