You got to start somewhere. Give up the sliders and move on. Take tiny bites and chew, chew, chew! I believe you can do it. We have all been there. Just start slow.

I remember telling my patient care coordinator that I was 'afraid' of vegetables...........after I said it I realized how stupid it sounded, but after being on liquids and mush for so long, I was scared. Slow and steady.

I get your fear. I have anxiety attacks and that is my biggest fear.

I get it but it is unlikely this early on if you take small bites then chew, chew and chew and wait between bites.

Just avoid dry foods (like dry or reheated meats) and many of us have trouble with soft breads.

Me too! Tonight was my first solids. I had salmon and mashed potatoes. For lunch I had turkey chili. Please suggest solids and veggies you can eat. Can you eat salads?

I can eat most anything but I ate a piece of pork roast early on that was dry and it was a miserable experience that I have never replicated <<phew>>.

The only thing that I don't do well with is the drier meats (overcooked or reheated) and mushy breads gets stuck. I have heard people say that asparagus and oranges can be difficult but so far I have been ok with those.

Just make sure to eat Protein first (3-4 ounces) and fill up on that, then veggies, then a small serving of starch if you desire.

Good luck!
