Getting Banded!

Hi all,

My wife and I are getting banded November 6th! We are both very excited to be starting this journey together! We know quite a few people who have been banded, but this site seems like a great alternative for asking questions and talking about progress.

For those who are interested:

Initial Consult: 9/11/2012

Work-up Completed: 10/3/2012

Insurance Approval: 10/8/2012

Surgery: 11/6/2012

Officially banded! Wife and I were banded Tuesday morning. I went first, she followed immediately after! We stayed over night, and came home yesterday afternoon. Still sore, and uncomfortable from the gas, but doing well overall. How long did the gas pain generally last after the surgery??

From my understanding some have it some don't, some get over it quicker than others. Me 6th day still have some mostly at night I feel part of mine is reflux, but walking helps, have a big belch massages and heat have helped me as well. It soon will pass but try to walk walk walk. Best wishes to you both and take good care of each other.

Haven't checked in in quite some time, I have lost 97lbs, and my wife has lost 53!

Here are some before and after pics:

June 2011 vs June 2013, I was not at my heaviest at this time but close to it.

August 2012 vs June 2013, the top picture was taken just before our initial consultation.
