Never Doing That Again!

  • Popular Post

Omg! Felt the pain of eating too fast and not chewing tonight! Waited too long to eat. Sat at the table and was eating chicken while listening to my kids when all if the sudden.... THE PAIN.

I remembered what I read here about not drinking but just walking around . I took deep breaths, was able to burp up some air and it passed within 5-10 min but omg. Never again!!

Consider that a hello from your band. It wanted you to know it was there. Glad you are ok.

for the newbies bandits,, read this as a learning experience

eat slow, chew alot and stop eating (or eating too soon after surgery) before dr says for you too.

(even if its soft or you think/assume its ok)

like aj said, thats the band saying take me serious

My doctor told me that I was on a liquid diet for two weeks then after that two weeks of puree. I bought beef broth and more boost but I really am not that hungry. This is a whole new world. I always loved my food and it was always my comfort, not anymore. Funny how things change. I am so excited for each of us and our new journey.

My problem as I see it is:

I waited too long to eat AND I was paying attention to my children instead of my baby plate and baby spoon ( thank you very much!)

My point was to warn that it hurts like hell is running through your chest even if you have a baby spoon when you don't pay attention.

Lesson learned!

I know momma...I just slipped onto my own world. there was a trigger word in your story and I went into a dark hole....lmao. I'll be ok when I finally get a fill.

At week three I was still on soft mushies like yogurt and cottage cheese. I did not move to denser mushies like canned chicken until week 4. You may want to consider soft mushies for a few days before moving back to chicken. .

I know a lady who lost 100lbs before she ever needed a fill. So everyone is different.

Lesson learned, huh.

Our doctors/nut all have different plans. I'm following mine. It wasn't the type of food, I'll have to learn sooner or later to respect the band. Fault was all mine!

You KNOW it! Ouch.

Amen, been there done that before, actually did it today, in a hurry to go to mall with hubby to buy boots for Me. Was not paying attention and then that lump in the back of my throat started, the saliva started forming in my mouth and Katy bar the door off I ran. And I am two years out and have not had a fill in over 7 months and most days don't even remember I have my band because I follow the rules. So it happens to all of us and it sucks.

OMG! I have had my first fill a week ago and had my first real stuck episode yesterday . Was so painful and only went after I threw up :(
