October 2012 Bandsters

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone, I'm starting this because we are mid way through the month so I'm guessing about half of us have had the procedure done. The October Bandsters thread has been really great with all the positive comments, suggestions and support. It would be great to keep that community going.

I'm two days post surgery. My pain meds are working fine. The surgery was easier than I expected and I hope the recovery keeps going as well.

How is everyone?

I saw the doc today, but didn't get a fill. I have the plication so maybe I don't need as many fills?

Mara..Did you ask your doc this question? I have no idea.. I dont understand the band with plication..why not just get the sleeve?...how did you decide on that?

I didn't ask him, I assume from the answers I gave him about my hunger and my steady weight loss he felt I didn't need it. I was kinda wondering if anyone else with a plication had already had a fill and how they felt before vs after.

Also, I got the plication because it was offered by my surgeron for free and I figured it couldn't hurt to have another tool to help with my weight loss.

At about two or three weeks post op I stopped losing also. I think I was taking in to few calories, once I started solids and took in more calories I started to lose again. But I stayed the same weight for 2-3 weeks before it started to come off again.

As for the hunger, is it boredom or actual hunger? I have found that a lot of times I'm not actually hungry and if I go do something that takes my mind off food then the pains go away and I forget about it.

whatever happened to fallon? She was on here in the beginning often and I haven't heard or seen any posts in awhile.. Hope you are doing well if you see this!! thinking about you!

Hang in there, you're in "bandster hell". sorry to say, but it could take a few fills to get you out. Hold on!

Thanx cause I'm getting a bit down n out ... Thought I'd be in my merry way by now ....

That's why when someone without a clue says "you took the easy way out", is full of crap. It ain't easy, but its doable!
