Oops...i Cheated Today

I had a few club crackers today and I feel horrible about it...kind of. I've already lost 8 pounds since Friday but this pre-op diet is killing me! Am I the only one who has cheated a little?

I never cheated. Maybe at a year out but not so soon after. Just remember the post op is not forever.

I'm still in the pre-op stage. My surgery is scheduled for the 26th.

well, some cheat and some dont. i did not and that does not make me better than anyone, i just chose to tough it out....most likely you did no harm but you really need to try and stay with your doctors pre op diet...after surgery, cheating before you are healed could cause damage.

you can do this and trust me, we all have been there in this being hungry

i recall my hub told me, you wanted this surgery so do what you have to do to make it work.

some disagree but its crucial you follow and listen to your doctor.

I cheat, almost 7 out of 7 days...but have still managed to lose 100 pounds. Don't beat yourself up, you are in this for the long haul.

shake it off...... tomorrow is another day!

I had some veggies last night, just tossed with Tony's and Pam in the pan. It was last fat and calories than a shake!! Just needed to chew! Back on track today and down 9.5 labs in 6 days!!! I'm just worried my body will start to hold on to it when it notices its really hungry !! Don't beat yourself up, just back on track and keep your eye on the goal!

Thanks everyone

Gotta chime in here. GiGi you did not cheat, you made a poor choice. You chose to eat the crackers because you wanted them. Crackers are not a bad food but it is a carb and in the preop stage it is very important to stick to the plan to make the surgery easier on you. The diet they put us on is to shrink our liver. If you would continue to eat carbs or foods not recommended on the preop diet you could delay your surgery or make the surgery more difficult todo. The liver is located very close to your stomach andin the area your physician needs to work.

So my two cents is try very hard to stick to this pre op food plan, remember you are trying to change a life time of bad habits and behaviors and it will not happen overnight. Only you can chose what you put in your mouth but please do not beat your self up if you chose to eat something that is off plan. Just move on and start a new day. Good luck.
