Is This Normal?

I had my surgery on Monday. So happy the day finally came and gone. I've been on liquids and just tried tuna fish salad today went down ok. And had a little egg salad. I drink normal. I try to sip at least I was with the broth. But after do a little work out reaching for water old habits I drink it down. I'm confused with how I should feel. Because I don't feel anything. I don't feel hungry. I eat or sip to stay hydrated. Ive trained myself not to eat when I'm not hungry so its hard to eat now because I don't feel hungry at all. Not even thirsty. I'm so afraid to throw up so I'm really paying attention to how my body reacts. If it weren't for the scars and soreness I wouldn't think that the band is on.

no' date=' because i was swollen from surgery.

i followed my dr's and nutritionists instructions to the letter, as i am now[/quote']

I'm trying to understand.... So your stomach being swollen didnt allow u to drink/sip.. did u feel a restriction? Or u didn't have a desire to drink.

Did you go to Mexico?

i sipped and i sipped for2 weeks...if i pushed it, i would get sick to my stomach, one time and i never did it again.

it was clearly (a sensation of what restriction could feel like)

i got full on a couple sips. now, just over 3 months out, 4 oz fills me up like at thanksgiving

Knowing CG she just didn't want to go against Drs orders

Nomorebigbaby, do you see under my name it says Lap Band Master, do you know why that is?

yes, because of all i did to have surgery

why in the world would i mess it up by over eating/drinking shortly after surgery..major surgery.all dr's are different. more concerned with this persons health and not wanting them or anyone to rush

allow your body to heal and rest...i mean no harm or disrespect to anyone (cept mad :o )

The reason you do not feel hungry or thirsty is because your stomach is still swollen from the surgery. I somedays I have a hard time with Tuna and I have been banded for 7 months (band being tight somedays). My advice is 1 call your doctor and tell him your concerns and 2 eat only 1 cup per meal, slowly, and drink slowly. The eating habit is a learning process. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Take care & good luck.

i think mine should say pink princess...

Ok. Got you. I haven't felt the "sensation" yet. I sip down broth, Jello sugar free popsicle and just added Protein drink to the day. I haven't felt hungry. I eat something because I know I have to. I haven't felt a thanksgiving full either. I've been content really since surgery.

if you are hungry, that is normal. those Protein shakes were my food until my insides healed

the more i healed, the hunger came back

as ajtex said, just because we can eat/drink more than we should, doesnt mean we should

Of course I'm not trying to mess it up. That's why I haven't pushed myself to the point to feel anything bad. I don't want to.

i think mine should say pink princess...

Maybe we should request that Alex correct yours....
