It took me a few days. If you can you want avoid constipation. My dietitian suggested a powdered fibre supplement.

I had the same question, called my mum who is a nurse to check I was ok! It took 8 days post op to have one. I was on a liquids diet the whole time, plus the pre op diet which was just the Protein shakes. Benefiber supplement didn't appear to do much. Mum wasn't concerned given the extra fluids were largely Fiber free and noted provided I was still passing urine, it will just take some time. I was also on endone painkillers which are also known to prevent a bowel movement. Hope that helps :)

Solid in, solid out. If you haven't eaten anything there's nothing to come out.

A stool softener should also help...and it's important to stay properly hydrated with Water or other free fluids.

I know that now, when I have to return to a liquid diet post fill, it really messes my entire system up for a week.

Took me a week and it was painful. Used stool softners and mild laxative. I am normal now, 2 months post op but it took a while to get this way. Good luck.
