  1. Me too! Actually just shy of 3 weeks. How are you doing on the purée diet? I had revision from lapband to bypass. Turns out there was an uncommon problem with my port. After 5 years it was causing pain and upon extraction they found some significant issues. Anyway looking to the future. Still sore with a lot of bruising but out and about doing a little Christmas shopping. Missing eating out with friends and the occasional margarita! Let me know how you’re doing!

    May Bandsters!

May 21 was my date. Started at 240 down to 210. Feel great, started couch to 5 k last week so it feels good to move! I've had 3 fills and have restriction now. I love this band and hope I can make the most out of the opportunity I've been given! Good luck to you! BTW I am 49 years old. I believe the younger bandsters are brave and smart to do this early, enjoy your youth as a thinner healthier person.
  5. After my 3rd fill which was last week I almost always have some discomfort. However I know after the vey first bite of food whether or not I can tolerate it. If I continue to eat one or two bites after feeling full I am in trouble. A learning process for sure. I am so accustomed to bolting into my food because I was always so hungry that slowing down and taking small bites has been hard.

    Bowel Movement

Took me a week and it was painful. Used stool softners and mild laxative. I am normal now, 2 months post op but it took a while to get this way. Good luck.
  7. Just remember that no matter what you have to do or how long it takes to get your surgery date it is all worth it! Good luck, hope it happens quickly.
  8. Gotta have my weekly (or bi-weekly) Margarita!

    Never Before!

Thanks Brenty, today I did my first session of couch to 5k. It's not a lot but it's a start. I enjoy reading about others who have found a way to fit exercise in their life.

    Never Before!

You guys are great inspiration. I hate exercise and simply dread it. I have a big trip coming up though so maybe it will be my motivation to get started. Banded about 2 months ago and I still don't have an exercise routine. Uuuggghhh

    Question

I am about 7 weeks post op as well and have had 2 fills. Getting some restriction now but I understand your concerns. I have them too. My weight went Dow quickly the I gained about 5 pounds back. I am disappointed but realize its a long journey and I've got a lot to learn. You'll know exactly what restriction means when it finally happens. It's a great feeling, it empowered me to stop eating such large portions. Good luck to you, the fills are a breeze just go slow for your first real meal afterwards.

    July 14-My One Month Anniversary

    That's fantastic!
  13. Help! Just got back from a great FL beach vacation and ate anything and everything I wanted. I was banded in May and have 1 fill. I don't feel restriction yet but how could I have eaten so much? Should I try to get another fill this week? How easy is it to stretch the pouch? I didn't eat as much as I would have pre-surgery but still ate a lot. I need encouragement! Thanks in advance.

    Hungry!!

I was hungry after surgery too. Low fat cream based soup was the answer for me. You'll do great, hang in there. It's confusing at first but it will work out as time goes on. Good luck!
  15. I'm down 20+ pounds and the sex IS better! I feel better about myself and things are more comfortable now. Looking forward to loosing the next 20 pounds but I too am dreading what my DDD's are going to look like! Maybe I'll wear a good bra to bed!
  16. I have the Realize band. The port is supposedly more low profile which is good for me. One month post op and one fill with 0 problems. I hope you do great!

    Phsyc Evaluation

Mine was about 30 minutes. Asked about any history of eating disorders like anorexia (obviously not!), thoughts of suicide, etc. it was a breeze for me and I'm sure it will go great for you as well.

    Caffeine

My dietician said absolutely no caffeine but I just wouldn't give it up. She said it's a stomach irritant. I have 1/2 caffeine every day and so far no problems. I'm a month post op today.
  22. Enjoy yourself, preparations for the wedding, honeymoon, etc. you'll do great. Get the fill when you get back!

So Glad I Didnt Get The Sleeve

Thought about the sleeve but couldn't come to grips with all the cutting, staples, etc. glad I got the band!
  24. Glad to read all of these threads. Tomorrow is 1 month for me. Had a small fill last week but still have no idea how much I can eat, I feel no restriction. My only limitation is self-imposed and that didn't work before I was banded so it won't work for long now. I have lost about 20 pounds since 2 weeks before surgery but now it's stalled and actually went up 3 pounds. Scared I am eating too much but then I think back on how much I was eating before I started this journey. I feel I should have lost more already. Impatient! Glad to hear that there will be a time that I physically can't eat all I want. Ready for another fill already. Thanks all!
