Yes the band erodes into the stomach. That means that the band is still intact, it does not break down or deteriorate but the stomach has damages, ulcerates or however you would like to describe it.

I had my first fill today, it was a breeze. All that nervousness for nothing! Anyway, my surgeon told me that NSAIDS and Prednisone (anything anti-inflammatory) can erode the band. I may need to be on Prednisone in the next couple of months and he said that he would have to remove all of the fluid first. So just a heads up out there that those items erode the band!!
