So, The Process Begins!

Today was my initial consultation. I had my in EKG, Pulmonary test and blood drawn. My appointment for the psych eval is Wednesday and then they submit. Thankfully I have BCBS Anthem and they don’t have a long life of requirements.

I have been going back and forth for over a year now and im glad I finally made the decision to have Lap Band.

My birthday is in August, so I would love to have this done in June so I can have some weight loss by then. Wish me luck :D

I have anthem bcbs through the Kroger national plan and it was a very quick process. From first meeting to surgery was about 2 months and would have been sooner if my surgeon was not so booked.

good luck!

I have BCBS also but it is COBRA, glad to know it didn't take too long for you. I see my surgeon Thurs. I've talked to the nurse coordinator and told her about my ins. running ou June 30th and needing to have surgery by then and she is trying to rush things along. I do have to do a 2nd sleep study this Friday night at the hospital, ugh, but better safe than sorry, right! I don't want to stop breathing during surgery. I'm so excited for this journey to begin. Yes, I am a bit nervous as with any surgery and I'm anxious I guess is the word, as I have to do a pre-op diet of liquids well shakes and I want to do well on this journey of weight loss and work the program.

I have anthem BCBS and I am told it is very fast I am having trouble getting a psych exam they recommended two DR the one I like is booking for the end of July & the other one looks creepy & when I called his answering came on & hr sounded creepy too:/ so u think I'm going to call around worse case I can wait until the end of July what do u have to do for the psych exam if its feeling out forms then maybe DR Creepy will do

My Psyc Eval took about an hr and half and only took a week to get in. I was given 2 different DR's and I chose one that I knew of and went to her. It cost $300 up front. She asked questions about my eating habits, about my overall emotional status, we talked about my divorce which took place a year ago and my separation that took place 3 yrs ago and that is when I turned to food for comfort. She asked me why I wanted the surgery and how I was goin to cope with new eating habits and the pre-op and post-op diets, just things like that. It went really well. You'll be fine. Some Dr's give a written test or computer test called MMPI but mine didn't. You can google it. It's no biggie, no worries.

I was given a 20 page packet with questions to complete prior to my appointment. I go Wednesday morning, they managed to get me in, in 2 days. I will let you know how it goes. If I were you I would go with Dr. Creepy, I think it will be worth it in the end.

Oh yeah do u have to continue to see the Psch person or is it just a one time evaluation

Just a one time evaluation.
