There was another thread like this a month or two ago. What is your rash like? I have a dry, itchy red rash across my tummy. Another man on here had similar. Really little bumps. We wondered if it wasn't eczema.

It could be a reaction to latex, surgical adhesive, the antibacterial liquid that gets swabbed on you before surgery, or meds (pain killers, antibiotics). Is it all over your abdomen, centered around your incisions, or what? Is it itchy, painful, hot, swollen, bumpy, flat, oozing? Is the affected area getting bigger or about the same? How long have you had it? When you've come up with answers to those questions, call your surgeon's office and describe what's going on. It's probably nothing terrible, but better safe than sorry.

I got a weird rash in various spots on my tummy, then under my chest. I asked my doc about it...and he said Yeast infection. They give you a huge amount of antibiotic via IV when you go in for surgery. That plus your immune system is traumatized can make you suseptible to a skin yeast infection. He gave me a pill and it went away in a week.

Speak with you doctor if you are concerned. I personally had a very bad rash/welts from the adhesive of the tape that was used to map out the " surgical area" You could see that it looked just like a rectangle. I was afraid to take something orally so I used a rub on cream from the pharmacy. Big red welts! The welts were almost as bad as the port incision (which was really not that bad).

I think I had a genetic disposition since my mother also had a very bad reaction to medical adhesive after a sugery.

Are you allergic to shellfish? If you are it might be the iodine used to clean you before surgery

The rash is very itchy and bumpy. Called the dr. I have little bumps near the incisions then a larger rash on my lower stomach. Dr is seeing me later

Let us know what the doctor says. I'm curious now!

I am one week post op too and yesterday I developed a horrid rash all around my incisions. I peeled the "glue off" in the shower and started taking Benadryl and using Hydrocortisone cream. The itching was terrible with a capital T! I called my surgeon and they agreed that it was most likely a reaction to the adhesives. I had a medrol dose pack here at home so I took the first dose of that last night and I woke up this morning feeling much much much better. The rash isn't nearly as red and the itching has mostly subsided.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
