Lap Band With Gastric Plication

I feel like a bag of assholes.

I had to spend an extra night in the hospital because of the nausea. I'm home now and still nauseous, can't keep down the pain meds and am apparently screaming in my sleep because it hurts to move.

Does anybody have any experience with this? How long can I expect this nausea to carry on?

Are there certain requirements to do the plication? A certain BMI? I just emailed my surgeon to see if I'm eligible.

Don't think there are any requirements and bmi either. Very few doctors are doing it you would have to find one that does it in your area.

@Touria.... That is wonderful news... I plan to follow your posts... I hope my experience is like yours!!!

Today is day 5 I still feel the nausea a little bit, but it goes away quickly. I haven't thrown up since day 1! I started having some yogurt and cottage cheese today it tasted great, I will have eggs for dinner and hopefully I can tolerate it! I'm so happy to have gotten the plication as I already feel restricted without a fill! I also didn't experience too much pain, other than the first couple of days I feel great! But then again I think dr Snyder is amazing and I talked to a few ppl that had the plication with him and they all say the same thing!

Awesome! :)

I am having the procedure tomorrow and am really nervous after reading these posts. Any recommendations, please?

Touria, did you have a pre-op diet and if so what did it consist of and for how long?

Yes I only had to do 1 day of liquid diet, the day before surgery!

Awesome! I keep hearing about people that have to do liquids for 2 weeks! I was getting worried. Whew! How long did it take you to get a surgery date after your insurance approved you?

My paperwork was submitted to the insurance company on a Thursday and approved the following Tuesday.

I'm glad to see more people getting the band with plication my surgery is May 18. I'm excited and looking forward to hear the success of fellow Bandsters with plication.

I wish my doctor would of discussed this option with me! I had no idea about it.

@fnicole....I had no idea that plication exsisted until I went to the seminar my surgeon put on. Apparently its\'s still very new and only certain surgeons do it.

LadyScorpio how did it go?
