Banded On March 23Rd!!!!!

I was banded on March 23rd everything went good dr even removed my gall bladder due to it being inflamed. Im still really sore and having to rely on my meds like clock work. Im living off of sugar freen jello and ice chips and pure protein vanilla shakes. Sometimes im not feeling hungry at all but other times my stomach is growling and im so hungry thats when i drink a shake. Im wondering if it's going to take me a little longer to recover since he removed the gall bladder. Gas hasn't been a big big issue but whenever I feel discomfort I chew some gas x. But im still having trouble getting in and out of bed and sleeping on my back not a happy camper about that. I tried sleeping on my side it just was more uncomfortable for me. But Im walking alot and having no problem doing it. Im going to attempt to take a real shower tonight so I hope i don't get anything to wet. Missing food like crazy though. Hope everyone else is doing well. Oh yeah 16lbs lost so far. Operation get skinny and healthy in full effect!!!!!!!

I hope I get over this soon it's got me in this funk....

I was banded on 3/23/12 also three weeks in I'm feeling well I know this is a slow and steady process I'm ready to see the new me already on mushie foods until next Thursday other than that trying not to look at chocolate lol I'm planning on joining a gym soon and doing zumba

Awww....I'm so sorry you're in a funk, Nicole! I hope it's really not bumming you out. I feel something similar to that almost EVERY time I eat. It's really really uncomfortable. It's a lil scary too. So you should definitely try and find out if you can get the meds in a liquid form.

Seanta, congrats!!! I'm looking into finding a Zumba class too. I started plateauing and I really hate it! I need to get my behind exercising. And I used to dance so Zumba sounds right up my alley. Good luck on your journey!

Seanta I know what you mean about the chocolate i dnt know if your on the mushy stage yet but there is chocolate pudding that is so good and sugar free or whipped mousse pudding 60 calories they are both really good and a replacement for snicker s or cookies. Thats awesome about getting a gym membership and starting zumba I want to do that so bad but I want a buddy to go with me. I wished you guys lived closer....

Hey Twin yeah it's bumming me out. I checked with the Pharmacy and that med doesn't come in a liquid form. And now my incision went from leaking green stuff to soaking my bandage so Im having to change it more often it's annoying. Although the pain is not really there anymore I still have trouble bending and the only exercise I have been cleared for is walking. Im forcing myself to eat something even when Im not hungry just so I can take my medicineugh. Im not the kind of person to complain alot and this has turned me into one of those ppl. Im trying my best to stay positive but all i can think is that im getting a fill in a week I hope I can still get it and my incision heals fast.

p.s. I ate a super thin crust pizza well a slice and half it was like heaven in my mouth. It filled me up and satisfied my craving. It was like a reward for my tummy for doing such a good job for the past 3 weeks. Im not going to do that all the time but I sure am glad I did it. After I ate my job and others were sponsoring this thing called relay for life for cancer it's on a highschool track and it's an all night walk. I went to it and walked for 2 hours it felt great.....

I can't believe ur incision has gotten that bad. =\ Any idea what could've happened??? Is it okay that u have to go thru bandages? I mean if u aren't in pain anymore the meds must be working n maybe that's just how it heals. I noticed one of my incisions had opened up also. I think it happened early on n I didn't notice but I'm a lil upset b/c u can see the layer of skin underneath n I'm afraid I gonna have this freaking really obvious discoloration on my tummy when it finally does heal. I know it sounds trivial but I just hoped I wouldn't have lots of scars when all this is set n done. Guess I won't be wearing any bikinis after all. Lol N don't u worry about 'complaining' this isn't easy n that's what we're here for. This is the only place one can complain n have others actually understand what u're going thru... I'm sure the pizza was amazing! Don't worry about having a slice. U do deserve it n I know u definitely would not over do it! Plus every one deserves a bit of indulgence every once in a while. It actually can motivate u to keep up the good work. N u realize as much as u missed it, u can handle only have a SMALL amt n it feels great afterwards b/c u had self-control. That event sounds great! One two hours!!! Congrats! I'm looking into doing one of the walks in the City with my bf. I believe there's one next month. I love exercising in a way where u don't even realize that's what u're actually doing. N that way sounds like a smart n generous one!

Well, talk to u guys soon!!!

Yes Twin i called the dr to tell them about it leaking like it has been and they told me that it's my body pushing the infection out. So im hoping it get btr fast.

Yes I agree with you about the scars as soon as everything heals im going to start putting bio oil on my scars thats what I did when i was prego with my son on my stretch marks it did help. But as far as my scars im going to look crazy all marked up I already have a c-section scar. Im hoping once I get to my goal weight i want to get a really pretty and personal tattoo saying on my rib cage. Something like unbreakable or something.

My older sister has a scar on her tummy where they took her gall bladder out it kinda looks like mine and it has faded and not very noticeable so hopefully we should be good.

Oh! I'm glad that does mean its healing. Excellent news!!! I've used bio oil in the past n I didn't think it helped much. But I also wasn't as consistent as I should've been. I never am! Lol I have strivectin, which has helped in the past. So I'm trying to use that around the incisions as much as possible. I honestly feel that new stretch marks have come since the surgery. Prolly from when the fill up our stomach. I also bought these silicon sheets that have adhesive. Someone mentioned it on a forum. Hope all of these things work! I am DYINGGGG for a rib cage tattoo. That's my first priority once I get to a weight where the rolls and things are hopefully gone! But my dilemma is my actual tummy area. Don't think I can get that tatted. Lol Especially since I haven't had kids yet. Can't be a good look when I do get pregnant. Lol I love that idea for ur tattoo! After this experience I think we can all feel confident that nothing will tear us down. Am glad to hear about ur sis' scar diminishing! Did she use bio oil too???

Hey everyone hope everyone is doing great. Im doing btr my incision is still infected there's not pain thank goodness but it doesn't look pretty. I have been doing good eating still a little nervous about eating so I only really have real food once a day everything else is a snack or yogurt or protein shake.

So tomorrow is my 1st fill kinda of excited. Im hoping my incision being infected doesn't stop me from getting it either. Hope everyone has a great ni gth.....

Nicole they need to get your infection cleared up. I'm appalled that they would think about a fill with an infected incision. Has it stopped draining? Best of luck to you. Let us know what happens.

Ok so everything went great. I got my 1st fill 3cc in 11cc band. Im super excited and maybe a little light headed. Dr said my incision looks better he wants to keep me on antibiotics for 10 more days becuz it's still infected but not as bad as it was. Dr said im cleared for cardio just no tummy exercises which i get. He also said I should start losing alot more weight now. I go back in 2 weeks for a check up on my infection. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Band Day Buddies! (I was banded 3/23 too)

So far, I'm down 26 lbs. I had my first fill on Wednesday and he put in 5 ccs. I thought I would have super restriction, but it feels fine - and like I could even use a little bit more...

I guess I just don't know what restriction fills like yet.

Hmmm......

Congrats girls on ur fills!!! I can't wait till Monday when I finally have mine. The past two days haven't been the best food choices, I must admit. Sadly, I really am realizing I NEED that restraint n the fear of getting stuck to help me keep on track.

But explain how the experience was...Was it painful!??? How quickly was it over with? How did u feel after? Did they have u test it out with water? Like I hear a lot of other ppl mention on here.

Anywhoo!! Continued success n I'm glad to hear it went smoothly! Talk to you soon!

WE GOT THIS!!!

Hey Twin well here's how it went for me.... Dr requires me to bring a bottle of water. Then he rub something on tummy and all I felt was a little pinch and it was over in 2 sec well it seemed like 2 sec then it was off to get an xray. After that you have to drink the water to make sure it goes down ok. then you done. Nothing to worry about your going to do great and I think it will def give you the restrictions your wanting. He said I can come back in like 3-4weeks.
