You can do it!!! I know it's hard, but pretty soon it will start to get easier. I started on Sunday 2/19 so I'm right with you! My band date is 3/8 at True Results in Richardson Tx

I too am considering going to True Results in Richardson, TX for lap band. How did it go? I'd be very interested in talking with you.

I'm post op day 6 amd been craving pickles and pickle juice. So I ate it with no problem is that ok or should I just stick with liquids. How long does the incision by ur belly button take to heal that's the only thing giving me trouble.

My 2 week post op appt was this afternoon. I am feeling great and am down 13 lbs since surgery 3/22/12... a total of 38 since i started my weight loss journey in January. The doc said I have probably 1.5-2cc in my band right now so I may very well be feeling resrtiction. My first fill is scheduled for May 2nd so we'll see how the weight loss and hunger are doing by then!

I was banded on 3/20 and I have only lost about 5 lbs since the surgery, everyone else here seems to be losing much more. I am still on pureed/mushie foods, I tend to eat soups alot could it be the sodium. I'm not eating all that much. So I don't understand why I'm not losing more weight. Anyone else having this issue. Any suggestions??

I'm getting my first full on April 23rd also! Am excited!

Woohoo!!! Awesome! Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that, but don't get discouraged. I definitely go for the low sodium low cal soups. If that's all ur 'eating' then I definitely believe the sodium most have a lot to do with the small weight loss. Try to stick to the lower sodium ones for a while n see if it helps.

Alerker, I feel the same as you. I was banded on 3/21/12. I lost 7 lbs preop and I've lost 7 lbs post op. I walk with a walker and much pain so I have not been exercising at all. I eat about 600 calories a day and my weight loss is so slow compared to other posters. Let's not be discouraged. We all lose at our own rate and we are making progress toward a healthier life. I wish you the best in your recovery. MelVan

good on you MelVan.. we are all different. im like you, i have problems walking, but for you and i, losing the weight will mean more mobility. thats more than worth going through the banding process. Ive lost about 13 pounds in two weeks. a lot of that was fluid. in that time my blood pressure has come down from 145/80 to 130/70 . im just so thrilled. So... there are important changes going on in EVERY body here, regardless of whether its seen yet or not. Keep the faith everyone. This surgery DOES WORK. WE all need to make our minds and emotions come in line with the lapband.

Im 2 weeks out from surgery today. i weigh myself every morning. i dont think that im going to lose any more weight quickly like i did... but that doesnt matter. Already years are gone off my face and neck... already i can walk with less pain. So.. hang in there. there ARE positive changes going on in everyone... and not just weight loss.

Fantastic!!!

its wonderful. im like you, ive lost the same. ive actually lost 10% of my body weight. my dr printed out a chart for me to keep on my first ten days. its great to see .

Melvan, Thank you I feel better knowing I'm not alone. I know this will work for all of us.

If u r only eating 600 calls a day it is going to make the weight loss really slow!

Had my first fill on tuesday and the needle hurt like a b*#+=] !!! Felt better afterwards though. I have my next one in 4 more weeks. My dr days he does it gradually so I won't have issues. Lost 17 lbs so far:)

I am 9 days op and I can eat anything without vomiting. Its like I didn't even have surgery, is anyone else the same. I don't think that's a good thing.

Hi mwest1 I was told if you are vomiting that you are overeating. I haven't vomit not once I'm too scary...lol we have to remember the band is a tool My doctor explained to me that you can get anything down the band but it's up to me to make the rigt choices.
