Hi!

I was banded w/plication on 1/25/12 and I have lost a total of 20lbs. YAY ME!!! (I have a mini mental celebration everytime I lose a poundnot_ripe.gif ) I have had minimal complications thank God. The one annoyance that I have had since my surgery is a sharp pain in my my left shoulder. It drives me a bit bananas, but I'm not so concerned about it anymore because it seems as if this is a common occurrence after being banded.

Gas pains!!! It got me bad!

Yay for you I had should pain for short soo glad it's gone. I used a hot pad weirdly on my left side not on should to ease pain. It's for nerve running in abdominal area up. Hope you pain easies up

I had the same pain for over 6 weeks after surger - at times it brought me to tears. I could lay down flat and it would help some. I really thought there was a problem, but the doctor kept swearing it was gas. He did say if it lasted over 6 weeks, they could stick a needle in to pop it. Thank goodness it went away before that. Now, I never tried any type of over-the-counter gas relief remedies. Maybe someone will reply that did and it worked, but it's worth a shot. I just wanted to guzzle a soda and belch like nobody's business, but I was too afraid to do that because the band was so new.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions. The gas and the pain have both gone away for the most partbiggrin.png I am super excited about that! I found that good ole Gas-X works best for me.
