Iband With Gastric Sleeve Plication

I just had an Iband (with plication) done on 12/21/11 and I'm really wondering how I should feel on this day!! I feel like I have an air bubble caught between my rib cage thats pretty painful at times! I have had just a couple of spells of nausea, which I think is pretty good. Has any one else had the IBand done?

Hi Ladies I'm new here but have my Iband surgery on January 3rd I'm so excited, and a bit nervous too. I was told by my surgeon that the feeling you ladies are having is from the gas the they use

  • I had the Iband done on 11/22. For the first week or so I had terrible heartburn. The second week it was better and I had zero hunger. By week three the hunger started to return but I noticed I could

Thanks Melinda, that helps me alot I just want to feel like I can't do anything. I'm just over reacting. I guess. I just want it done and over with so I can recover quickly and feel like my own self.

Sandrie: You will NOT feel like your old self again...You Will Feel BETTER !!!! I can breathe, I can walk up and down stairs. I can get on the floor and play with my grandchildren. I feel 20 years younger (I am 60) I understand your hesitation, but once I made my mind up, there was no turning back. I am so glad I did this. I didn't want to die old and fat - just older !..

Take care and let me know how you do on the pre-op diet - by far the WORST PART of this whole thing - you will think you are starving to death, but it is worth it..it makes your surgery and recovery so much easier. Have a great week.

Melinda, your words give me so much positive feelings. Thank you soooo much!! I'm going to think positive I promise. Everyday I'm gonna think positive.

Tomorrow is my first day of my pre-op diet. Wish me luck! I hope I don't fail.

You will do fine...What type of pre-op diet are you on? Different docs use different ones. Mine wa no carbs, no sweets - 2 weeks, followed by 3 days clear liquids. The clear liquids almost killed me because I was at work and all thought about was food. He did let me eat plain celery (with some salt) but limited on that. I understand why you have to do it and it makes a big difference but it is still hard. Hang in there and drink constantly (that helps) and do the sugar free jello or popsicles (after awhile those just won't do it anymore but for a bit they help). Just stay focused on your surgery date and those smaller sizes you will soon be wearing. e-mail direct if you need any encouragement or you have any questions -mgallup003@aol.com

Have a great day

Hi Melinda, thanks

I have to be like in a shake/liquid diet for 2 weeks. It's gonna be difficult but I have to be strong. 5 shakes a day plus no calorie liquids. That's my nutritionist said so my body won't be in shock afterwards. So basically like 800 calories . Thanks for your email I'll email u if any more questions.

Be excited about your pre-op!! you will loose weight during this time! I lost like 16lbs! The sugarfree pop cycles are pretty good and you get used to the sugarfree pudding..I still eat them!! You will do great!! Here is my email also if you have questions..fish2escape@yahoo.com

Teri and Melinda,

You girls are awesome all ur input means the world to me. I had my second shake today. A lot of water I'm drinking and had sugar free jello. So almost done with the first day ugh!!!! Getting excited for the 2 weeks from now! :)

First work out kind of walk today. Geez! Walked 25 min, only burned 132 calories and according to my app I can now have five carrots!

I dont even like carrots so I am not thinking it is worth it! If it told me I could have a package of M&Ms, that would be worth it.
