Iband With Gastric Sleeve Plication

I just had an Iband (with plication) done on 12/21/11 and I'm really wondering how I should feel on this day!! I feel like I have an air bubble caught between my rib cage thats pretty painful at times! I have had just a couple of spells of nausea, which I think is pretty good. Has any one else had the IBand done?

Hi Ladies I'm new here but have my Iband surgery on January 3rd I'm so excited, and a bit nervous too. I was told by my surgeon that the feeling you ladies are having is from the gas the they use

  • I had the Iband done on 11/22. For the first week or so I had terrible heartburn. The second week it was better and I had zero hunger. By week three the hunger started to return but I noticed I could

Hi ladies. I've read all these pages of comments and this was the thread I was looking for. Need some input please, please. I was looking into getting the lap band all these months and when I went to my doctor he recommended for me to get the iband. I'm really scared and I have 3 kids to take care of. I need to recover as much as I can. So I'm still deciding what to do. My surgeon won't charge me if I decide on the plication.

My surgery is on may 9th so I need to decide quick. Please help??? Oh yeah I want to know if you lose ur hair? I have thin hair already and I don't want to lose it. I'm from California I'm hoping someone is from here too....

Hi Teri yes I did. Thanks. When u said u were in and out in 4 hours. Did you mean surgery time or going for surgery and out? My doc say its an additional 30 min for the plication.

I got to the surgical center at 10AM, they did't get me back for surgery until 12:30PM, but by 2:30 I was in my car, on the way home. Groggy, and grumpy but on the way, none the less

Kami,

Hi thanks so you feel good? How long have you had your surgery or did you just get it? I'm thinking I might do this surgery then. I still have till 5/9 to decide. Ahhhhhhh nervous!

Melinda,

Thanks for the input. How much have you lost?

Have any of you had problems being on your tummy? And what about massages, I love massages and hope it doesn't affect my tummy. Please lmk thanks

I just had mine Wednesday. I'm fine. The gas in the chest is painful ans annoying, but not pain meds worthy.

My doc said I could shower the next day, just turn the water on my back, don't let it run down the front. Seemed simple enough.

Your doing awesome!!

working today, although prob only half a day.

I'll be showing houses, and thankfully all the ones for today are single story. Not sure I'm up to hiking stairs a doz times!!

Sandrie - OK, I have lost 92 pounds and have around 30 more to go. I love massages too. I had one the week of my sugery (helped me relax) and I had one about 6 wereks post op. No problems. I have had 2 since, done four 5K walks and I do water aerobics. Other than the weight loss and the occasional PB or sticking issues, you would never know I had anything done. I do eat far less, but anyone we go out with or I do lunch with knows so that is not a problem either..In fact, they are very supportive and will slow me down is I eat too fast.

At work, kickin' butt! Feeling great. Little tight in the chest, but not bad. Bought a campbells soup at hand (the heat and sip kind) in the little tumbler thing. I bought creamy chicken, but honestly it's over 10 oz. No way in the world I can get all that down at one time.

Afraid to try anything that isn't liquid just because of the horror stories I hear.

Thanks Melinda, that helps me alot I just want to feel like I can't do anything. I'm just over reacting. I guess. I just want it done and over with so I can recover quickly and feel like my own self.
