So I know I've posted before and lamented about the inaccuracy of my scale. Depending on where it is on my floor, there can be up to a 5 pound difference in my weight, which is completely infuriating. I end up having to rely on my doctor's scale, which I don't like doing because there are so many variables.

Tonight I got the idea to try putting something that I know the weight of on the scale to see what I got. I took a 14 lb box of cat litter and put it on the scale in three different spots on the floor. Although the weight came up at 15.2 lbs, it was the exact same weight in all three spots. What gives? I know I shouldn't be so obsessed with the scale but I find that it's an important tool to help me know if what I'm doing is working or not. Any ideas? Should I just throw it out the window, as I really want to right now?

I know what you mean! My scale used to the same thing! Then I bought a new digital one from Bed Bath Beyond the WW glass one and that one actually stays the same all the time, FINALLY. Don't worry about if you're obsessed with the scale I think 1 out of 3 are hahahah I am one of them! I weigh in the AM and at night. It keeps me accountable. I think sometimes when you move the scale it depends on dips in the tiles or if one is higher than the other etc...small things. Good thing is you are doing GREAT!

is your scale on carpet or on tile? if on carpet move to tile. If on tile -that's weird and i'd be frustrated too! Christmas is around the corner - it would make a great present for yourself - a new digital one!!!

We have a POS scale that I only use to check changes, not absolute weight (it's 15 lbs off). I go to the doctor every three

months and that's often enough for my real weight.

I like to weigh daily to keep myself accountable. I also have one of those scales that vary depending on its mood. I finally got rid of it as it was just too frustrating and rely on my Wiifit scale now which is accurate although more of a hassle to weigh on first thing in the morning.

I would get a new scale. I too weigh myself every day. Mine seems accurate. If I don't like what I see, I try again, but it always comes up the same lol.

I too have this same issue! Now, I put the scale in the exact same spot (measured by the checkerboard pattern on the bathroom tiles). I know we aren't supposed to weigh ourselves everyday, but I agree it keeps a person accountable.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
