Banded yesterday

Just got banded yesterday. Port site hurts, I guess not too bad. I feel like I am regretting this. Anyone else feel regret right after? I hope this feeling goes away. Going home today, maybe I just need to be comforted by family. Hope everyone has a successful journey.

I didn't right away but my breakdown was at day 3. In all honesty days 2 and 3 were the worst for me. By day 5 I felt good and by day 8 I felt fairly back to normal. I'm 6 months out now and think its the best decision I've ever made. Give it time, you will adjust. Good luck hun

YES, I felt regret right after, but give it time. It is a life changing surgery. I am just now on day 11 and I am already done with the regret. I look forward to the future more than ever! Keep your head up. rolleyes.gif

I too felt regret that first week. Every day will get better and by days 7-8 life will be back to normal. I refused to stay overnight in the hospital, so surgery at 11am and discharged before 6pm. I'll admit, I was in rough shape on the ride home, but worth it to be home in my own bed.

I felt regret from days 2-6 (worst gas pain of my life!) I thought i was going to DIE getting in/out of bed and having to sleep on my back!

Today is day 14 and I feel awesome. In fact.. My daily text to the four friends that will have LB nov-dec-jan was this...

NSV!! My bra is on the tightest hook and getting loose!! I don't have to unzip the 12's to get them over my hips!

Down 18.5lbs since pre-op diet started!

I am one week out, days 2-4 were the worst! I cried about NOTHING! I am very emotional, but each day seems to get a little better! I have also had the feeling of regret, but I just sit down and think WHY DID I DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE, the ultimate goal (shopping for those smaller clothes, my health, etc etc) knowing that IT IS GOING TO GET BETTER, gets me through the days. I loved to eat, so giving up that relationship with food is hard. Just look ahead to the ultimate prize! Another blogger also suggested to keep a notebook to write in, the good, the bad, the ugly etc. Just to get all your emotions out, I am going to start that too, may feel good to just get it out of my system. Everyone keeps saying how much easier this will get, and I believe them! Keep you chin up! Good luck in your journey!

I was banded yesterday 10/26/2011 and I too am feeling regret. I watched a video some of my friends students made and found myself crying. After reading all the replies to your post I feel better. I am feeling pretty bad right now and I am starving! I started to wonder why I had this done...

Yes!!! Man I wish I felt well enough last week to pull out my laptop and get on here. I was banded on October 17th and did feel a little regret day 3-4 but it has gone away. It's true what everyone keeps telling me. Each day it gets a little better...

I was banded on the 20th. I started regreting it whiling waiting for the surgery to start. I spent the night at the hopsital because my sergery did not take place until about 8pm. I was in pain the day after sergery but I was okay. About day 3 the gas started in my back and then up to my neck. The pain was so severe in my neck that I thought that I was gonna die. All I could do was lay down. Everytime I sat up the pain would come back very strong. I started regreting it again. Today the pain is bearable without meds. And looking at the scale which is 10 pounds less than the day of surgery. Everything is going good now so just hold on it will get better. I don't know if it is my mind but I feel like i can feel the band inside me. Can you? Well keep your head up as we go on this journey together. GOOD LUCK!!

I was banded on the 25th and I've been feeling great. I prepared for surgery as best as I could and must of had a good doctor and surgical team. I've had a bit of shoulder gas pain but walking and gas-x strips seem to help a bunch. No pain from incisions and I try not to mess with them. If I do feel some tightness on my chest after sitting for a bit or napping I take half a dose of my pain medicine. I'm trying to get my Protein in but am not very hungry yet. A couple of sips or bites of Jello and I'm full. I hope the other new bandsters get to feeling better soon.

Everyone is right, the emotion takes over that first week. I was banded 4-25-2011 and I thought, "what the heck did I just do??!!!" that first week but I am 75lbs lighter and feel GREAT. It does take time and you will be feeling amazing SOON! I do admit I do have a day here and there where I just want to be lazy and veg and eat a hamburger but I chose a different life when I was banded and I have to remind myself and get up and eat some protein... yum lol. Chin up you are on the path to a better more beautiful you!!!!!!!
