Protion Problems

Hi! I am new here. Just got banded on Sept 22nd and a week later got approved for 1/4 cup portions of "soft" foods. The trouble is that I am feeling great. No fill yet, and I feel like I could literally eat the same thing that I was eating prior to the band placement. I have been sticking to the high protein diet, but it's so hard to eat only a 1/4 cup! Anyone else having this issue?? I mean -- the whole reason for the band is to help with portions. Really looking forward to that first fill!!

I eat up to a cup of food at a time and am losing well, you just have to find what works for you.

My doctor has never given cup measurements for mushies or solids. Instead he said to weigh them, 3 oz. So my experience was to measure 3 oz of cottage or ricotta cheese. At day 11 however I was still at 1 cup of soups like tomato or squash per meal and 1 protein shake. Until you get fills this will be a will power diet. The band is doing absolutely nothing for you right now.

My dr said 1-1 1/2 cups of food... I couldn't get all that in though. Everyone is different. Find what works best for you, just dont go crazy :-) you'll figure it out soon.
