  • For those of you who have started your liquid diet, how goes it? I am on my second day and it is not fun! Basically I can only "eat" jello and broth. Major bummer!

Hello October 2011 Bandsters, and all those that have been before us. This site is AWESOME! Its the only way I've gotten through this pre-op diet so far. I'm on day 3 and doing better today than yesterday and yesterday was better than the day before. I can do this!!! WE Can do this!!!!

My banding date is October 7. I'm bumped and can't wait.

Good luck everyone!

Hi,

I just started my pre-op today. I am getting banded Oct 14th.

Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with this pre-op diet. I'm on day 5 and it's starting to get a little easier. The first few days were torture!! I'm scheduled for Oct. 10th. I go Monday for my pre-op testing. I'm so excited!!!

Starting day 10 of the pre-op diet. It has been rough. Had a set back Tuesday when they rescheduled my doctor's appointment 3 times. But finally got it done on Wed. My surgery is this Thursday I can't wait. So far I have lost 13.5 pounds! It's not a lot but in my eyes it's a HUGE amount!

Good Luck to everyone starting their pre-ops or that are on them now!

Hi everyone,

I'm starting day 4 of pre-op diet. I'm starting to feel less hungry. I didn't have my first shake ( 3 carnation sugar free shakes/ day) till 11 am! Surgery is the 12th!

Im in day 2 of pre op diet. I have a constant headache but Im not going to turn back now. I forgot to ask, If I was suppose to stop drinking coffee? THAT I doubt that I can do, i can only cut back but not out. Ooohhh :( my head.

Hi everyone, just wanted to update you guys. I'm on day 5 of my pre-op diet, and I am doing surprisingly well. I had headaches for the first few days but now I'm doing better. I am staying pretty satisfied during the day. I'm a late sleeper on weekends, so I have only done 1 protein shake today and just ate my soup a few minutes ago. I did have a lapse on Wednesday evening, i ate two pieces of cheese. *slap on hand* I was in a moment of weakness, but i am happy to say that it hasn't happened since. My husband wanted chinese food for lunch today, I told him if he wanted it, he needed to go out and get it and eat it out. LOL So that is what he did, went and ate chinese food at the restraunt so I didn't have to smell it. What a sweetheart!!

How is everyone tonight !:)

Hope to be an October bandster too! I go on the 3rd to see the nutritionist, psychologist and last weigh in. Hope it doesn't take long to get approved with the insurance. Did anyone use BCBS Florida, if so how long did it take to get approved?

Can anyone reccomend a good chewable multivitamin or post what they are taking - I am told I need to get one and there are so many to choose from that it just makes your head hurt.

I get Centrum chewables from Wal Mart. They are orange flavored.

Ok. One more day. Banding on Monday. I got a call today from doctor. Said my blood work came back with Hugh white cow t so he put me on antibiotic from today through Monday. Don't feel sick but obviously something is going on great way to stop a cold if one is coming on and I certainly don't want to be sick while recouping. My blood pressure today was excellent so I am ready to go. Watched a real life video of the lap bad surgery. Cool p at least I know what to expect even if I'm under anesthesia.

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the forum but my surgery date is October 14th. Been on a liquid plus small meal diet for 8 days. Carnation Instant Breakfast with 3/4 lactose free milk and 1/4 almond milk for the liquid.

:)

Can anyone reccomend a good chewable multivitamin or post what they are taking - I am told I need to get one and there are so many to choose from that it just makes your head hurt.

For sure ! Where I was banded at, all Bariatric Patients are put on this 1 tablet 3 x a day.

Flintstones Complete with CHOLINE.

You must get the ones with the CHOLINE though, that has something to do with vitamin B, and we need it.....

I have been on them now for almost 7 yrs.. , and I recommend these to everyone because they work.

I have tried other brands, but they don't have that kick that they have,'

It takes about a couple of weeks before you feel the difference, but you will know it, when they are kicking in.

Go ahead, and give them a try, and let me know what you think. Also go to Flintstones vitamins website, and get a coupon for money off..

Shirley.

I just thought I would tell you all to check out my latest posting on the post op site.

Titled Woo Hoo !

See what you think, and let me know.

Shirley.
