  1. Maybe its a psychological response. Your brain is saying "nuh uh ice cream is bad, here's some pain" I would talk to your doctor though, but if you can eat chicken I don't see why you would be in the red zone?
  2. I am also 3 months out. I weighed 276 on my surgery october 14th and I weigh 250 now. I have 2 fills. I TRY to count calories but honestly, lately I've been very busy. (I'm a musical theatre performer) I was told I was doing great. We have similar stats, you're doing fine. It's a slow and steady weight loss. So keep going at it.
  3. Chart your calorie intake, you might not be eating enough.
  4. When you are in the maintaining stage and if you consumed this little amount of calories the whole time, you are going to have a very hard time mainting. I hit a plateu for 3 weeks, I increased my calories to 1000-1200 and excersize 3 times a week and it started dropping again. Eat like youre going to eat as a skinny person. But its recommended not to be less than 1200 from what i read.
  5. I took a week and a half but when I went back to work I kinda felt sick. So I probably could have used the other couple of days, but I work with children so I'm constantly moving around.
  6. You just reminded me that my pain is gone. I had surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. Sooo it gets better and you forget about it but I have no idea when mine went away. ANYWAY as far as showering I used a trash bag and cut head/arm holes so I didnt get my incision wet for a few days after surgery, dunno if that would help you
  7. You know my fill is scheduled for november 11th...but if as some of you say that area is inflamed or whichever I dont know if I should really get that fill anyway. I'm not hungry. I can't eat in large quantities and even protein shakes keep me full, so wouldn't a fill not be helpful until I'm eating too much? or something? Isn't that the point, to stop from eating large quantities?
  8. I'm following the exact plan my doctor gave me. I'm supposed to eat 4-6 oz of regular textured protein 3 times a day with carnation instant breakfast between meals. I can eat the fake chicken stuff and bean soup but this just didnt work. I agree though I am going to be on only liquids tomorrow because I don't want to cause anything, and I was full even on the liquids stage so it's not really a big deal to me.
  9. Okay soo I'm on week 3. Solid Protein right after the mushy stage. I had tofurkey..twice. Tried it yesterday and it kinda hurt after a few bites so I stopped. Tonight I tried again, 3 bites or so in major pain Felt there was something stacking up in my chest wanted something to just get it down so I drank water even though I know you're not supposed to drink but man it hurt. Went to the toilet to try to get it out. Coughed, some came out, few seconds later There comes everything I just ate. I'm not filled. But I really don't feel hungry much. I kinda force myself to eat, and I do get "full" after very little food. I don't understand how this could be, and also is this PBing? Thanks Guys!
  10. Thank you for the responses...The blood sugar seems like an obvious answer. I've gone from eating whatever I wanted practically to really no extra added sugar what so ever. My body is probably in shock. I know my stomach is I can barely eat anything anymore and I do not have a fill yet.
  11. Stop being discouraged. I am 2 weeks post op and also down 17 pounds BUT i had 3 weeks of pre-liquid diet. You're supposed to be losing a steady 1-2 pounds a week and from my calculations, you are over that amount.
  12. Sooo yesterday (thursday) was my 2nd day back at work. I was about 30 minutes in and i felt nausious but I didn't want to ask to leave or anything because we were understaffed. about an hour and a half later i felt a bit flushed and a tad dizzy. My coworkers (who are all wonderful older ladies) forced me to sit down and gave me water etc. etc. and called my boss who told me I should go home. But I still felt like this big jerk. Has anyone experienced this? I think I was dehydrated? but I just don't know anymore. I'm trying to figure out my body again but its only been about 2 weeks now since surgery.
  13. From when I read the article he said that he's doing it so he knows how to best work with his client. I think he's trying to see what its like in the persons shoes he's trying to help become physically active. Most fit people dont know what it's like to be overweight...how ARE they supposed to work with people who are if they don't understand those struggles. I think its a good thing....
  14. Hey we have the same surgeon! I'm 11 or so days out...I have no idea where the port is other than where i feel the most extreme pain on theleft hand side of my stomach.
  15. I just tried 2 oz soy slender coffee 2 oz vanilla muscle milk 4 oz lactose free milk with 3/4 scoop publix brand vanilla protein powder and 1/4 scoop carnation. SOOOOOOOOO gooooddd. I think it would be even better if i crushed ice with it but I don't have a blender atm.
  16. Hello all, I was banded on October 14th. I have been a vegetarian for over 4 1/2 years and I was wondering if anyone else is also a veggie! What foods are you eating? How is everything? etc. etc.
  17. Hey everyone! It seems everyone is doing well which is awesome. I was banded on October 14th and I weighed 276 and now I'm about 270. Started at 284. So yay 14 pounds! The past few days I've been having really bad diarrhea I'm honestly so sick of the protein shakes, I think its what is making me sick. I am lactose intolerant and I use lactose free milk with the shakes, so I have no idea why...but after drinking it I just feel blah. I get to eat tomorrow some mushies. I'm a vegetarian but I can say that eating oatmeal eggs and yogurt is going to be so much better than what I'm dealing with now.
  18. You look wonderful! Congrats! You're an inspiration. I was banded 3 days ago I hope I'm as successful as you
  19. To add to the bloating I have a double chin now that wasnt there before surgery!!! I'm using a heating pad too mostly on my left shoulder it hurts soooo much. Wish you luck!!!
  20. lol no he didnt tell me to stay off the scale. I'm guessing he should have since the liquid diet I've had a scale addiction hahaha.im not allergic to tylenol as far as I know, but i'm guessing no actual pills for a bit since I'm only 3 days post-op. I still look like a bloated balloon though >_<
  21. So I was weighed in on October 14th at 277 pounds and now I'm at 279. I've barely eaten anything? Why is my body hating me so much? Also I'm allergic to the pain meds, anything I can take? It getting better but I'm still uncomfortable.
  22. My nurses were stupid and didnt even give me any liquids. My surgeon yelled at them but anyway...you do get stuff through your IV and trust me you won't be hungry. Good luck. I just had mine October 14th. It gets better every day.
  23. My surgery is October 14th....AHHHH I've been going through this process since February. I cannot believe it's *checks date* tomorrow! Good luck everyone!!
