  1. I had to have an unfill as well. I was banded on Oct 12, and just had liquid for the first two days and on day 3 i went to full liquid by day four i was throwing up. i discovered i could no longer drink the same Protein shake that i did pre surgery. When I went to my doctor for my one week post op visit, they asked me if i was getting in all of my fluids and i said I'm trying, and the nurse said are you just not thirsty or can you not drink them, and I explained that i was not able to do them as much as I would like because I had a horrible pressure in my chest when I did drink. She said ok, that means you get an unfill. So I currentlly have nothing in my band and my first fill won't be until Nov 7. i can't wait til i'm able to feel full. I also have a question for all of you. How many calories are you consuming daily? I wasn't told what to stick around, but I was trying to say around 800, but sometimes that doesn't seem like enough for me to be satisfied. So I need some help pls! Congrats to all who have been banded so far this month, and to the ones coming up. You are all doing great. Jess
  2. I thought i came on yesterday and posted that my surgery went well, but i guess is didn't. Too much meds in my system i guess. So, on to yesterday, I got called in early, apparently one of the surgeons cancelled his surgries he had for yesterday so I was supposed to be at the center at 7:45 but they called me at 6:30 and said pls be here when u can. So i got there and signed all my concents, they took me back to put in my IV and such. I was wheeled into OR at approx 8:40 back in recovery by 9:30 and home by 11. My surgeon told my husband and mother-in-law that I did very well on my pre-op diet because my liver looked great and he has an easy time doing the surgery. I didn't really have any gas pains to speak of until today, and even now they are minor compared to what some ppl describe. I have 4 incisions and one of them is larger than the rest.(picture attached to bottom). All in all i feel pretty good, aside from the fact that I'm sore I'm doing great. I have been eating chicken broth,SF popsicles, and SF jello. When I get over the soreness I will be in perfect shape to start my new life. Thank you to all of you who give support to all of us each and every day you guys are all the best, and I know that you will succeed in your journey. P.S. I started a Vlog on youtube, my screen name is kali5377 to anyone tha tis interested, I plan on updating it weekly. . ">
  3. In the surgery center waiting to see the doctor and anestisologist (sp). Not really that nervous. Ready to start my new life!
  4. Surgery is tomorrow in the DFW area. I have a lot of emotions, happy, scared, nervous. Just to name a few. Good luck to all and if I don't update in the morning I'll do it when I get home from the surgery.
  5. At a surgery center in Hurst, TX. How about you?
  6. Thanks guys that makes me feel much better!!
  7. I am getting the band on 10/12 and I just started my period today and was wondering if anyone out there knows if this will stop the surgery. I sure hope not, I have waited so long for this, and have been on my two week pre-op and everything. I have never had a regular perirod due to my PCOS, but it always seems to come at the most inconvient times. I guess I can thank that to losing 8.4 lbs in 2 weeks...I just don't know what to do and need some help. Thanks in advance!!! Jess
  8. I have a questions for the ladies of the group. Sorry men!! I just started my period today and my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday the 12th. Do you think this will stop the surgery from happening?
  9. I got a call from the surgery center this morning and I'm supposed to be there by 7:45am. I'm excited, only one more week!!!
  10. I just got out of the ENT and he said that he doesn't see any reason that the surgery can't go on! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. They said that it's something about the anestasia, if you have certain food allergies then you may have complications with going under. I'll update you guys after my appointment today. It is at 3:15 central time so wish me luck!
  12. Ok so I need to vent and maybe some support. I am at work today and overall it has been a good day, then at 4:15, the surgeons office calls me. They tell me that I need to go to an ENT. Backstory: i have had a weird tongue allergy since I was a child, I can't eat anything citrusy without my tounge swelling a bit and being very sore. This includes fruits, walnuts, sprite, some alchoc beverages, etc. This runs in my family, my dad has it as does one of his sisters. Return to the call: they say that I need to go see an ENT so be can determine how severe my allergies are and if it will make my throat close off or not. I understand why they want this, but I have had this all my life a d nothing life threading has ever come out of it. My surgery is in 1 week and I was lucky that I was able to get in to see one tomorrow. However if they want to do food testing on me my surgery could be postponed. I M just frustrated. Thanks for letting me vent!!
  13. My surgery is scheduled for oct 12. I don't have any children but I am experiencing those same fears. However when I think about it I have to tell myself that the benefits outweigh the risks. I think it is perfectly normal to have these fears, however I know you can do it. Not only for yourself but for your children, so you will be there for them always! Good luck o. Wednesday, I'll be a week behind you.
  14. I wanted to wish good luck to the people getting banded this week!
  15. Hi everyone, just wanted to update you guys. I'm on day 5 of my pre-op diet, and I am doing surprisingly well. I had headaches for the first few days but now I'm doing better. I am staying pretty satisfied during the day. I'm a late sleeper on weekends, so I have only done 1 protein shake today and just ate my soup a few minutes ago. I did have a lapse on Wednesday evening, i ate two pieces of cheese. *slap on hand* I was in a moment of weakness, but i am happy to say that it hasn't happened since. My husband wanted chinese food for lunch today, I told him if he wanted it, he needed to go out and get it and eat it out. LOL So that is what he did, went and ate chinese food at the restraunt so I didn't have to smell it. What a sweetheart!!
