I don't know how, but I DID IT--passed up pizza & breadsticks!

So, I met up with friends and the kids tonight for pizza and breadsticks at Pat N Oscars, and I did not have ANY.

I am just so amazed that I could do that! I am 8 days post-op, so I had a Protein shake before I left and am emergency sugar-free pudding in my purse. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to stop my self from sneaking in a little bite of pizza, yet, I DID (stop myself, that is)! I really had doubts that this band thing would work--I am such an emotional eater, and even told my doctor I eat when I am NOT hungry all the time. I can't believe I am actually doing this, and surviving without junk food all day......

I still feel like I am walking on eggshells though--I haven't told a SOUL about my surgery for fear that it might not work, sigh....

but, I think it just MIGHT be working!

Thanks for letting me share smile.gif

  • Great job...and it does get easier to say no to things. Once you start seeing and feeling the changes in your body, it will come easy to say no to those tempting treats. It is all mind over matter.

  • Mind over matter---so true! Its funny, I keep thinking back to that night and thinking, what if I did have pizza? It would be OVER NOW anyway, and I would feel worse, not better! RIght now, I canno

I'm proud of you!

great work :)

Great Job! Keep it up! :D

Fantastic!

A lot of times some things are just all in our Head. Like a addiction for carbs... Once you know you can't have it, you lose the urge for it.

Hope that makes sense to you, because it's so,,,, true !!

Amazing how the band changes us. Pizza was one of my biggest downfalls. Now when I look at it all I see is the pbing episode its bound to cause!

I would have caved, I am terrified to be around food at all right now.... still have 2 weeks of just liquids....

Why won't/didn't you tell anybody? Support will

be your greatest ally. I'm just curious because I thought about not saying anything, but I'm glad I did. It makes dining out so much easier because nobody puts pressure on me or questions my motives.

Great to hear. I am having the band put in tomorrow and you are overcomming one of my biggest fears. Certainly makes me feel better that I can do it. Thanks for the motovation.

Good luck ready to go......welcome to the journey

Thank you very much. I am happy to have support from people who went through it. How were the frist few weeks after your surgury?

I have been great...I start mushie stage officially today...im 2 weeks post op......I haven't seemed to have many issues as of yet:)

funny, I caved about 6 weeks post op to pizza breadsticks. BAD IDEA! Youll try it once and NEEEEVVVVER do it again. The Stuck episode and swelling (caused major complications for weeks) because I got stuck on a bite of pizza hut breadstick. I avoid pizza like the plague now. It hurt like the dickens and the craving goes away pretty quickly. Great job for passing it up. You did yourself a favor.

Chelle:

I have been very focused on the week or liquids and after the first day was ok. I am not worried about loosing weight right after surgery just my sanity.

Mindy:

How much did you eat?

Yep, my thoughts on this post are just the thought of the pain or problems it would cause would be far enough to keep me away from such things. I am not trying to hurt myself or cause misery. No thanks!
