Ok you guys are freaking me out! I am scheduled for banding in Oct. What is this about not being able to drink? I don't want to limit what I drink! Help!

I can still chug just fine too ;) Don't freak out!

I was banded on september 1st and can chug away. I hope this doesn't really change when I get my first fill. UGH

Dont fret.....I can take about 1/2 a bottle of water at a time and I am 10 months out. However make sure you do limit WHAT TYPE of drink. Many wasted calories are spent on soda and smoothies.... I now only drink water, tea, 1c per day of skim milk, crystal light and the occasional glass of wine.

i dont know, maybe it depends on how tight our bands are but if i chug a half a bottle of water Im veryyyy uncomfortable and want to spit it all out!

I'm with you FayFaye, I can't chug anything! I sip all my drinks. I don't know if it is habit, after 20 months, or if it my band. But, I just tried to drink, and I took sips. I have tried larger sips. but still can't chug! Karen

I had posted earlier about understanding and empathizing...today I realized I could chug all of a sudden and realized I was eating more so fill adjustment appt is made!!!

I REALLY hope I can still drink Water the way I do now. I get really thirsty, especially in the summer living in Vegas when it's 115 degrees outside and i'd rather die than take one step out of air conditioning. Hoping to feel better (and cooler) when I am lighter, less insulation, right?

I'm amazed at how much I love drinking water now, although I have to take it a bit slowly so it doesn't hurt. What I don't miss is all the fizzy pop that I used to drink. It doesn't bother me to have it in the house or to see others drinking it. I just don't miss it. And I am easily doing 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

I'm now one of "those people"! U know who r always cold & wearing sweaters in the summer... I'm about half way there on my true goal weight I can't imagine how cold I'll b then! Lol I used to make fun of cold people! Saying " u can always put stuff on, u can't take much off" but boy do I simpathize now!

I'm one of those people too. Always cold. We had a 106 degree day this summer and I don't think I even broke a sweat!

In keeping with the rest of you...I TOO am "One of those people" and keep a light cardigan in my van because of restaurants and stores. I even had to turn my a/c up because I am freezing all the time. MY FEET, my TOES ARE ALWAYS COLD! Like right now, coffee is NOT keeping me warm.

I think I am hypothermic! :)

Mine too...and fingers. I was tempted to build a fire last night!

I was banded 8/23 and I'm still supposed to be 'sipping' water and protein, but I miss chugging water. The only thing I've been doing is taking a big gulp, holding it in my mouth and swallowing it slowly or spitting out the rest. Not the same as being able to chug. So far just missing water & chewing gum.
