As my doc and nutritionist told me, I'm an adult and I can make my own decisions, BUT...Caffein is a diuretic and staying hydrated is more difficult after banding, so try mixing decaf with the real stuff.

My doctor okay's regular coffee. The Nutritionist said to consider Reg for breakfast and Decaf the rest of the day. I drink it black with Splendra. It's cold here in NE and I like to have hot drinks. And I keep my house pretty cold and work from home.

My nutritionist also said caffine was ok- no soda (carbonation) but coffee was ok. It is a diuretic and also stimulates appetite so just be aware of that.

Will I ever be able to drink my regular coffee again? I was told decaf everything..

I am 1 year out and was not told that I could not have caffeine, just no carbonation. I drink regular coffee daily.

I have one cup of regular and sometimes one cup of decaf each day. I have a Keurig one cup maker that uses K-cups and that is the best thing ever! No wasting a pot of coffee.
