Oh oh, I'm Hungry

I am 21 days post op and am now just getting my full hunger back. For the last two nights I've heard my stomach growl and growl.

Here is my question. I'm on solids right now and doing just fine. I don't know the amount of meat I'm supposed to be eating right now. I haven't had my 1st fill yet. Is 4-6 ounces normal or is it 3 oz now? I'm eating chicken and other meats, mostly Protein and some side lettuce.

I just want to make sure this is not me not eating enough or the common 21 day post wall you hit before you've had your 1st fill. This kind of hunger reminds me of what I had pre-operation days.

My Nut said to have at least 60 grams of protein per day. I would go online and find a database that tells how much protein the food you are eating contains. You might consider "protein shots" usually 30 g for about 150 calories if you are'nt getting enough.

I just saw my nutritionist today... she said the fact that I get a minimum of 60grams of Protein a day has a lot to do with the fact I'm not getting hungry 6 weeks out.

That being said, I'm still pretty restricted!

Just really try to follow the guidelines given for protein... and solids protein where you can as you'll stay full longer :cursing:

Good luck!

Rach.

I've been told by my Dr. of Nutrition that 100 grams of protein a day helps to shrink the skin so there isn't as much sag.
