  1. 2 weeks & 5 days post op and I'm doing great

Gatorade w/protein makes me gag now. I think from having so much of it.

I had the ricotta bake for a few days. I'm in the puree stage but rotisserie chicken, chicken meatballs, cold cuts, & plain tuna don't bother me.

I had a plain old fashioned peppermint and it made me nauseous...

  2. So I haven’t been able to lose any weight since the 2nd week mark of my weight loss journey. I’m 4 weeks out today & ive only lost 6.7kg (1.1 ish stone) I’m feeling so disheartened and don’t know what to do or what I could try. My diet plan from the company I had my surgery with, was awful! I’m not even sure what foods I should and shouldn’t be on. I don’t know how many calories I’m aiming for or capping at…. What exercises are allowed other than walking. I’m just really struggling at this point and I’m not getting decent results, especially compared to those surrounding me! Like seriously it’s turnt my life upside down (which I could live with if the results were decent) and the results aren’t changing. One whole week. My weight loss stood at exactly 6.7kg loss (the exact same to last week.) Any help? Or anyone going through the same!!?
  3. I'm two and a half weeks away from surgery, and it still doesn't feel real! I started this journey over four years ago, researching my options and trying to get funding. The sleeve wasn't available to me then, so I was going to do RNY because that's what my aunt and a friend had. But, my aunt had some complications and she just looked sick, and it worried me. Plus, I'm in Southern Illinois and I would have had to drive to Chicago (five hours away) for the surgery and that also put me off. So, fast forward to 2009. I attended an info session at the new bariatric center in a town close by. I decided to go for the RNY. I was told I had to do a six month diet, so I started that and in the meantime, the surgeon was let go. So, this summer, I found out there was a new surgeon and had heard good things about him. So, I attended yet another info session and learned about the sleeve. I was convinced right way. I made my consultation and saw him for the first time on October 29th. I've gone through all the tests, got clearance from everything and I'm now scheduled for surgery on January 17th! I'm having a hard time this is actually going to happen, though. When I went for my consultation, I was put on the Fast Track (six weeks til surgery.) that was in October. But, I couldn't get my psych consult until the end of December, so they scheduled my surgery for January 10th. I went on 12/28 for psych and they didn't have me on the schedule! But, they got me in for the following and I got cleared by psych yesterday. In the meantime, my surgery was rescheduled for January 17th because my surgeon will be out of town. Then, I started freaking out because I'm in college and my classes (and my husband's classes) start January 18th. So I have to juggle classes starting and trying to get my kids to school while I'm in the hospital. It seems like Murphy's law is in effect, and I'm encountering all sorts of obstacles. So, again, I keep feeling like this is too good to be true! Am I really going to get my sleeve? I don't think I'll believe it until I wake up from surgery with my sleeve!
  4. so first the picture... i dont like showing my face online... so sorry. But yea starting weight 317lb and size 57 pants and 4XL shirt Now 186lb size 34 pants and size large shirt which is a little big So before surgery i did not date for a very long time. I was really big and really never found anyone interested in me. Now almost 1 year and 1 month after surgery i get hit on a ton... and for me being a guy that is awesome. Literally had 2 girls at work fighting over me which was insane. Had to put a stop to it because it was getting bad lol. But wow. i swear if i was taller than 5'4 i would probably get hit on more haha. But its nice. My best friend said to buy a wedding band and wear it to stop them from hitting on me lol. But its nice noticing girls looking and not looking at me like ewwww he is huge.
  5. Hi, I had a sleeve on 4/25. Still on protein shake and clear liquid diet. I haven’t lost any weight in the last 3 days. Doing everything right, walking 30 min, having my protein shakes. Still working on getting my liquids to at least 64 oz. Having around 45-50 oz a day. Scale is not moving! Any suggestions?
  6. Five-week follow-up for gastric bypass and now on lifetime food plan. No restrictions.  In all that time I was fortunate to get sick only one time, week 1, on Easter. Chicken broth...go figure.

  7. It sucks to not see the scale moving. It makes me feel like im failing. I know it's normal, but ahh! I only lost 39.5 pounds since surgery (2/21/23). What could I be doing wrong? What could I do to get it moving again? Am I eating too many calories? I don't even know how many calories I'm supposed to be having. I don't have anything in my papers. One things for sure, a lot of stuff doesn't feel like I get restriction? The only thing I can't eat really so far is bread, pancakes/waffles. That I know of. I know each meal is supposed to be 3 to 4 ounces. How do you guys figure out your entire meal size. 2oz protein, 1 ounce veggies, 1 ounce starch? Ugh. My next appointment is the 25th or 26th
  8. It's been 4 weeks since my surgery and I am finally beginning to get the hang of things. Started the gym last week and even though it's a slow process it felt great to walk on the treadmill. I am down 37 pounds since surgery and it feels great. Im hoping not to catch this stomach bug that's been going around. It's already entered my home just trying to keep far away from my family. Other than that feeling great with my progress. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  9. After 1 week pre-op diet and 2 weeks post-op I had lost 38lbs but like almost everyone else I'm stuck in my 3 week stall. How long did yours last?
  10. Tomorrow makes 5 weeks post op I am down 24 pounds,

  11. Post Op Day 6 ---> I've lost so much weight so far in Week 1 that my wife asked me..."Are you sure they didn't put a tapeworm in you?"

  12. one week till i get my iband!! the liquid diet is getting better.

  13. Tomorrow is week 3, lost 21lbs so far!! I get my first fill on the 12th, can't wait to see what happens next!

  14. Well it has been a rough week. Stayed true to the diet. Had to resume meds except diabetes. I feel so much better. I have to push walking next week.

  15. 3.5 weeks until surgery!!! I am approved and ready to go!! Need to lose my a little weight by Dec 23rd. I can't believe it! I'm soooooo excited!!!!

  16. I am betting you feel extremely better within a week! as you know I had my lap band the same day as you - this was my 4th surgery to my abdomen via laproscopic. My port hurts when I turn a certain way and the smallest burp bubbles are uncomfortable, other then that I am not hungry and holding down clear and milky proteins. I pray you feel better real soon!

  17. can't really find what to eat 2 weeks post op

  18. ONE WEEK AWAY TO CHANGE MY LIFE!

  19. Down 54 pounds per my last official weigh-in. But more importantly, went on three different hikes (including one straight up a mountain) on one day, and still had energy left by the end!

  20. Hi. New to site. Surgery is next week........

  21. Things are going okay for me I guess.. I was told to only loose 1 to 2 pounds a week and that seems to be what is going on.. I am trying REALLY HARD to do as I am supposed to, but it seems the devil likes to mess with my head. I had some cookies that I ended up giving to my one son, cause it was too much of a temptation and I was going to them as a snack instead of good stuff.

  22. Surgery on Sept 13 - I am now a week into it and still very sore but getting my strength back

  23. I hope you are doing weel- you and I both just passed week 3 post op!Keep up the good work!:-)

  24. Day 5 doing pretty good. Wish someone could share what and how they ate on the 2 week Pre opp diet? :(

For some reason I seem to be holding fluid more and wondering if anyone knows if the protein shakes can cause any of this?

  25. I was told absolutely no alcohol until 6 weeks post op, if you can believe it :-( might have t o cheat a little on that one. LOL
