  1. YAY!! Mushies :) hahah! I'm stuck at 14 pounds too!!! I'm getting angry cause I dont eat any more than a child! My dr. wants me to push 60-70g protein each day....that is a task. I dont feel like all that protein is allowing me to lose the weight...but i'm gonna keep on it cause thats' what the dr. ordered :( I'm hoping I will wake up and hop on the scales and be down another 10lbs :) It was falling off like magic the first few days...are you having this problem??

  2. HI MIKE :) STILL NOT GETTING HUNGRY!! I DID GET KINDA SICK THIS MORNING...I WASNT HYDRATED ENOUGH AND I WASNT GETTING THE PROTEIN THAT I NEED :( SO...I AM PUSHING 60-70G. PROTEIN EACH DAY AND AT LEAST 64oz FLUIDS. I FELT SO BAD...DIDNT VOMIT...BUT GOT REAL SHAKY AND BROKE OUT IN A COLD SWEAT...VERY WEAK AND BAD HEADACHE. BUT ALL IS WELL NOW...I'M NOT GONNA GET MYSELF IN THAT SITUATION AGAIN!!

MY HUBBY IS NOT BANDED...HE IS ONE OF THOSE "GIFTED" PEOPLE THAT CAN EAT WHATEVER HE WANTS AND NEVER GAINS AN OUNCE :) HAHA! BUT HE IS WALKING RIGHT BY ME THROUGH IT ALL...VERY GOOD SUPPORT :)

  3. Hello Toni,

I have just posted to the thread, but to reply to your message: The cost of my 2 night stay at The Princess Grace Hospital in London was ?2200 and the cost of all the surgery was just over ?5000.

John Rogers does not include fills in his price nor believe in the practice of saying that the price includes 6 fills etc., as most people will not require more than 3, so should not be charged in advance unnecessarily.

The cost per fill is 125 for his services plus ?200 for the x-ray department charges at PGH. Consultations with him are also ?125 in Harley Street.

I have found him to be the most honest, no-nonsense man. He explains fully and clearly what he will do, how it will feel and what you should expect from it. He will offer you two types of band - the old single stitch band (most commonly used) or the new French band that works on exactly the same principal but is held in place with 5 retaining stitches as opposed to 1. Obviously you may decide to go for the by-pass which is much more invasive and he will discuss this with you too.

The hospital was lovely and the treatment I received was first class.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Remember - this is for life and your life must and will change. It can be hard and sometimes uncomfortable, but the options are negative: fat/asthma/diabetes/emphysema/heart disease etc.

I have lost over 4 stones since October on 2 fills. I still have a way to go but I'm getting there.

    Best regards

  4. Hey - thanks for accepting the friend link! I also started my pre-op liquid diet yesterday . . . Optifast. I am getting banded by Dr Frank Veninga in Dallas! Lap band was the only option for me. I have about 135 or so to loose. Are you on all liquids? How are you doing? I found adding extracts (vanilla, coconut, banana) to my shakes makes them better. They don't have any sugar or anything in them. Nice!

  5. Hello Telly,

I was reading your post about preparing for a bodybuilding competition and saw your workout schedule, but was wondering if you could also post what a typical week long menu looks like for you (with measurements if possible)? Also, how much isolated protein and nitro explosion do you consume per day and what time of day?

I'm really desperate for this info so I can start getting my body in great shape, too just like yours. You look awesome!!

    Thanks,

    Lisa Weinberger

  6. Hearty Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl- 1 pack of instant Oatmeal, half a small apple diced, teaspoon of granola, sprinkle of unjury unflavored protein powder. This is an awesome breakfast. I can hardly eat it all, sometimes I don't, but boy is it good and it's healthy!!

  7. Started trying out protein shakes! Matrix milk chocolate is pretty good thus far :]

  8. I'm a week out from surgery (5/14) need help with what to have on hand for the first 2 weeks. I will be on a liquid only diet, anything I can drink easily through a straw. So far I'm thinking chicken broth, miso soup, and protein shakes. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

  9. Day 6 after being banded , still on liquids only , but really wanting to eat something besides , broth, popsicle's and protein drink and jello, not really hungry just need a little more variety , any suggestions ?

  10. well, hell , I have high blood pressure not low, back to liquid protein diet for a week to get myself leveled off again.

  11. today: remember your vitamins, make sure you eat veggies and fruit today...and dont forget protein (it will fill you up)

  12. Today went great, I stayed within my calorie goal, focused on protein, the only thing missing was exercise. I will definetly get caught up on that this weekend!

  13. I have been up and about. Just have one side that is tender when I get up a certain way. I feel fine otherwise. Starting to worry about the protein that I should be getting but right now I am just concentrating on my liquids. Are you doing anything with protein just yet?

  14. I don't remember having homework in options lol...

  15. have you thought about Lenox hill hospital,I heard there really good and dont require a 6 month sup.diet, and I also heard that the bariatric surgeons in NJ is really good too...and for your protein go to GNC or unjury I have read a lot of reviews on both of them..at GNC the Isopure is exellent..they have the small bags for 19.99 bogo, and the lg one bogo as well but get a gold card for $10.00 atGNC

  16. I had VSG september 2010 and still not able to eat more than 2 bites at a time. I had a major leak at 6 days post op and spent 44 days in the hospital with 2 surgeries for repair. Had gallbladder removed early december 2010 due to excessive vomiting 3-4 times per day. I think I have a milk allergy and none of the protein supplements stay down. Im weak all the time and have not been back to work.

  17. I am new to this site and came across your posting. I was curious if you are happy you chose the RnY. I am currently researching my options for a revision. Thanks for your help.

  18. Surgery was beautiful! It was the same day as the Blizzard of 2011 ~ got to stay inpatient Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday as the hospital was basically CLOSED ~ Had my drain & staples removed today, advanced from Clear Liquids to Full ~ had a protein shake and BLENDERIZED cottage cheese, what a TREAT! Please keep the well wishes comin', I need them! Any FULL LIQUID favorites? Love to you all ! <3

  19. Google the "cottage cheese" test. . . The pouch test will NOT show anyone their pouch or sleeve capacity. The 5 day pouch test is just to purge carbs, and get back on track with protein first.

My max capacity with the cottage cheese test at 18 months out was a whopping 4.7 or 4 and 3/4 ounces.

  20. OMG I just learned in options today that Harbor City, Lancaster, West LA Kaisers are not taking anymore patients...girrrrrrl you barely made!!! Whoo hoo for you!

  21. Hi Mrspalmours I want to know what are my options on how to get an expedited appeal with a successful approval. I have UHC EPO and I live in Fl this is my story I have UHC EPO and I live in Fla. I was denied last week for wls. The reason was because they didn't have my BMI nor my 5 year history. I notified Dr. Jawad's office about this and they assured me that they sent everything over....

  22. I am doing pretty good. There's days that have been a bit rough but managing my proteins and fluids pretty good. I lost 7lbs. I hope you have a good phase 2.
