  1. hiiii I am doing okay, finally not sore. I have lost 10 lbs since the surgery but its kinda stopped now. today my dr started me on puree foods which is pretty nasty LOL but I am going to start walking tomorrow, 20 mins a day because I have yet to start excersizing, hope it helps. how are you???

  2. Hey! Believe me.... cheating is on the brain!! I actually met with the surgeon today and she said i could move on if I am really that hungry but she preferred if I waited and went with the program guidelines. I actually feel better today. Not so hungry. Plus, i went to work to try and get my mind of food! Its helping. Well, hang in there!! ttyl!

  3. I was banded on 03-25-10, and Im still getting used to all this. First I was kind of confused about what I should or should not be eating as I seem to be able to handle quite a bit of items. I kind of got off track on starting soft foods before Im supposed to, so Im backtracking so I can do it right. I so want this to work! One question I do have is, are you supposed to lose a lot of weight prior to your first fill, or does the weight really start coming off after your fill? I've only lost 7 pounds and I feel like maybe thats not good enough? Any help would be great.

  4. thats okay everything went well. this thursday april 8th will be three weeks and ill be able to eat real food again still on my puree diet. doing very well done 22 pounds since surgery altogether down 44 pounds what a differnece in my legs and so fourth. im so glad i did this never feel sick or anything they say we could have. well keep in touch and good luck with your wait stay strong it will come fast.

  5. Thanks for the nice note you made my day ;-) I love my black lab, I will look for your pics. When did you get your band? I have been at this for 9 months now and have lost soooo much. I eat Food. Not Too much and mostly Plants with protein first. I was too tight and I had to have some removed. I am still extremely tight but I am working with my band. I only have 3 more pounds to lose to be a member of the 100 pound club. Have a great day. Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

  6. Go to wal mart and buy some 1cup ziplock bowls. Put everything you eat in those, whatever it is. Try to stick to that size.

     

    When you to the reg phase of food, do 4 oz of meat (always eat your protein 1st) then a 1/2 cup of whatever else. Green veggies is your best choice.

  7. Thanks for responding! I'm sure with fighting with all the new changes can easily make one to start smoking again, but remember just like with food addictions forgive yourself and each day is a new day! Good Luck and will continue to follow up on ya!

  8. I got my first fill today 4 1/2cc, felt alittle strange but went well. On liquids for 24hrs then the puree, hey it could be worst. So how are you doing

  9. Awe... Chloe is so adorable! Things are wonderful here. I was down 25 lbs but gained back 1 lb when I started soft food... it really hurt my feelings... but whatever. I will definately let you know how the fill goes! I'm a bit anxious about it also. I just found this fantastic protein shake for my late nights at work. It is 25 grams of protein, no carbs, no fat, no sugar and only 110 calories. It's by jayrobb and is whey protein. I didn't care for the strawberry but the chocolate is a dream!! I just ordered a single serving pina colada and tropical dreamscicle online today and can't wait to try them. They keep me full for a good bit of time. They're nice when you don't have enough breaks at work or time to cover all of your meals! I am so glad to hear you're doing great! Piper is doing wonderful, adjusting well. Well have to get back to work but it's great to catch up... I'll talk to you again soon!

    I really love your pics... Looks like you are having great progress.... I got banded on May20th and have lost 11lbs since the surgery but I'm very concerned because I've stopped losing weight since I've been doing puree. If you don't mind what was your diet, exercise plan after surgery?!!! I really want to do the same thing as people who have had good success I'm willing to do anything at this point because I want to lose as much weight as possible!! Thanks so much for your help! ttyl

  11. Hey!! It will probably be another week or so before you feel "right". I felt the sensation of fullness quickly for the first couple of weeks. Now, however, I feel absolutely NO restriction. At this point, it's pure self control. I'm away at a conference this week, so things have gotten quite difficult. I'm just trying to stick to eating protein first. I did have an apple martini though. Yummy. That's so wrong! I've been released to a regular diet now. I'm finding that there in nothing on my typical menu that is intolerable. My doc says this may change after my fill which is scheduled for June 16th. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. My understanding is that this is the roughest period because you aren't filled. Keep up the good work and stay motivated. This time next year girl...you'll be lethal. That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it! :-)

  12. Hey girl! I read your post. I loved it!!!! You remind me of what I went/am going through in sooooo many ways. I just got banded but even now I find myself fighting with everything I put in my mouth and second guess myself at all times. I guess I am a food addict as well and I have really thought it for a while but having this band made me really face it b/c now even though I am not hungry I find myself WANTING to eat. I have to really fight myself to keep from doing that. Well thanks again for the great blog!

  13. Congrats!! Great to hear. My weight loss is at a stand still. I'm holding at 20 lbs. but right now I don't even feel like I have a band. It's pure willpower. I'm a little nervous about the fill. I go for my first on the 16th. Did you notice a big difference? I can't believe you're getting your second fill, it seems like you just had surgery! I'm starting a couch to 5k program in a couple of days. Hoping increased exercise will get things moving!

  14. Yea I had my very 1st PB episode last week. It wasn't pleasant. I've been paranoid about eating all week. It'll teach you to definitely slow down and chew your food better that's for sure. Well enjoy the day it's beautiful out today. Just wish it would get up into the 80s and stay there!!! Later.

  15. Good glad to hear you're doing good. You back on solid food now? You get your 1st fill yet? I got my 1st fill about 5 weeks after my procedure and it was only 4 cc's. Not much restriction but enough that I was eating smaller portions and not feeling hungry in between meals. I started walking at work. I walk on my morning break and during lunch for a total of 1 1/2 miles. I do this about 3 times a week sometimes 4 depending on the crazy Michigan weather. When I go to my brother's house I will go on a bike ride with the kids. My 5 year old nephew and I went on a 2 mile bike ride last Saturday. It actually felt great.

    Thanks for your constructive thoughts and advice. I am eating everything well-chewed and mush, mush, mushy! I made a nice soft chicken chili (still want to cook for my family) and tried a bit of rice with it. Chili went fine, rice did not. Overstepped the guidelines. Otherwise, I have not had a fill yet but feel restriction and can't eat very much. Have very few carbs generally, but I am still trying to keep that food group on the DL.

    Let's keep in touch. Trying to do the right thing and get healthy!

  18. Hey, Penn! Thanks for the support today. I have been eating a mushed-up variety of foods, and, although I have not yet had a fill, I feel restriction and a definite sense of fullness. I am having a hard time developing the water habit, though. I know that I should be sipping all day. Will try to get better at this. When I was first home from surgery, I heated up some low-salt Swanson chicken broth and added two tablespoons of cooked pastina with a tiny bit of parmesan cheese. It was soft, hot and good and felt like food. Just a suggestion for next week for you. I am chewing and eating slowly and learning to expand the list of cooked veggies I like. I will not stick with this if I do not make it work for me. Best wishes to you and all readers here!

  19. Hey!!!! Just got home from the doc, took my bandages off and Got the go ahead to eat puree/mushies!!!! and I can finally have that scrambled egg by tuesday/wed..... and I'm 14lbs down. so excited.. how is your day?

Yeah I know about the soups, my dietician rang yesterday and said I could start mushies and I said I'd been having pumpkin soup and she was just like "oh you probably shouldnt have had that" so I was just like wtf you never mentioned that? Grrrr lol. Definitely still worried tho cuz when I had some mashed up pumpkin and gravy for dinner last night I got a little stabbing pain behind the port and it freaked me out heaps - So now I'm worried about eating again today, eh it's all just a vicious cycle - It sucks that your work orders in - Maybe you could go to some sushi place and order some miso soup? That's one of the few take out soups I've heard people can have but haven't ever had it so dunno if it tastes great lol. I definitely need to buy some protein shakes tho, be so much easier if I could just find one I could mix in with food that had no flavour.

  21. The nut was great. I do like her and got lots of good eating tips for my pre-op, oh yeah, 2 weeks baby! But there are a number of 'acceptable' things on there that I won't feel like i'm starving too much. yogurt, grits, mashed potatoes!!, jello, pudding, sf popsicles and lots of broth. Still trying to figure out how i'm going to smuggle some of that with me to disneyland! I have a friend or two in the area, i'm thinking a ride over to the grocery store will be in order for my foods.

    June 2nd, huh, ouch...that is a long time to wait. i'm sure it will be here before we know it. next week?

I started getting a little hungry the last 2 days but no big deal..I had a few bites of a milked down twice baked potato yesterday and I felt like I was having a nice roadhouse or outback dinner haha...Really have been wanting some mexican food from joe t garcias in fort worth..hahah

  24. Today is two weeks for me.. as of today I am on soft foods only.. nothing raw no bread and all that fund stuff.. I made a crockpot meal and had to substitute stuff.. but it was good. I am so glad my husband suggested looking for a forum.. my emotions were getting the best of me... :)

  25. Hey there! I'm doing alright, how are you? I'm feeling pretty good, but was a little discouraged when I got on the scale this morning. I stayed the same since last Monday. I know it's to be expected because I have started on soft foods, but still, was hoping to lose a little. Oh well. How are things for you?
